BIO 301: Life Science In this course, students will gain a foundation and understanding of the scientific method and <br />how it is used to solve problems. Topics including elements, molecular bonds, cell biology, <br />metabolism, molecular genetics, evolution, biological diversity, and Mendelian genetics are <br />discussed. By the end of the course, students will have an appreciation for the symbiotic <br />interactions that impact living organisms including humans. <br />Prerequisite: None <br />50 Hours Lecture <br />5.0 Quarter Credits <br />COM 301: Speech <br />In this course, students will learn and practice the fundamentals of speaking in front of a group <br />Communications <br />of people in an organized, deliberate manner in a variety of speaking forums. Students will <br />review the theories and principles of human communication and public discourse. Students will <br />research, compose, present and evaluate various types of speeches including using informative <br />and persuasive communication. Through class discussions, written assignments, <br />communication exercises, and oral presentations, students learn the essential elements of <br />public speaking and how public speaking is essential in personal and professional contexts. <br />Prerequisite: None <br />50 Hours Lecture <br />5.0 Quarter Credits <br />ANTH 401 Human <br />Evaluation of cultural and environmental influences upon composition and distribution of <br />Variation <br />human populations; consideration of the genetic basis for human variation and biological <br />validity of race concept are the topics contained in this course. <br />Students will explore issues of diversity and justice through examination of popularized accounts <br />of scientific research into human difference. During the lab portion of the course, students will <br />partake in social exercises related to the course topics. Activities such as I.Q. testing and <br />identifying groupthink and biases are included. <br />Prerequisite: None <br />50 Hours Lecture <br />20 Hours Lab <br />6.0 Quarter Credits <br />PSY401: <br />In this course, students are exposed to behavior theories and applications in management. <br />Organizational <br />Topics include workplace motivation, attitudes, organizational culture, leadership, decision <br />Behavior <br />making, and management of change. Students will learn to detect and solve organizational <br />challenges.
