Outreach and engagement is
expected to occur throughout the project to inform
each subsequent task and to create a transparent
process so that the final plan is better understood and
supported by the community.
Studio One Eleven brings strong graphic visualization
skills to enable the layperson to engage with
complex planning and development ideas through
approachable, creative, and fun imagery, including
sketches, drawings, and precedents. We will utilize
these abilities throughout the community outreach
process to provide creative and engaging community
workshops, walk abouts, meetings, and also to
compile the project design documents as a highly
visual product that is succinct and easy to understand.
We can prepare flyers for mailings, handouts,
postings in public places, and social media to inform
the community of the project and to be informed of
outreach events requesting their participation. We
begin outreach with a community wide multilingual
survey distributed among multiple platforms including
online (e.g. survey monkey), facilitated stakeholder
focus groups, community events (i.e. school or
neighborhood group existing meetings), and
pedestrian intercept surveys at parks.
The goal is to include community as stakeholders in
the development and implementation of viable and
impactful solutions. The most successful projects for
us feature meaningful public engagement and careful
analysis of the patterns that shape the fabric of a
place.
All survey and community engagement data will be
collated, analyzed, and presented in graphic format
for visual clarity. Results will be broken down to
identify correlations or differences between feedback
received on the various aspects of a project. We will
also keep track of the number of community members
engaged throughout the process. Community
meetings will be facilitated in a bi-lingual format.
Task III - Sample Deliverables
• Create outreach and engagement plan with input
from City
IIf
• Multilingual online survey/questionnaire released
City-wide
• Prepare handouts, online content, flyers, meeting
materials
• Attendance at and facilitation of meeting w/working
group of City Staff and key stakeholder focus groups
• Community workshops, organized by geography or
recreation activity, to assess community -wide needs
and desires
• Outreach Findings
• Prepare and present materials at Recreation and
Parks Committee meeting
• Monthly check in meetings with City and status
report
Task IV - Site Specific Master Planning &
Conceptual Development (1-3 months)
The analysis of current park system usage, needs,
desires, and interest of the community can be
represented as a separate of integrated deliverable.
Utilizing the information gathered in needs
assessment phase will begin with a review of the
community input to assess current and future park
needs.
The Project Team will convene for a working session
with the City to facilitate a goal setting discussion
and to review project objectives, site constraints,
desired development program, overall parameters,
and regulatory provisions. This working session will
help guide the project visioning and design process to
focus on specific opportunities and challenges for the
project.
S111 has successfully facilitated design charrette(s)
with Project Team, sub -consultants, City Staff, and
other stakeholders, to inform the conceptual site
layout and diagram depending on project scale and
need. Charrettes allow all parties to participate in
extensive, hands-on exploration of possibilities for the
specific project and associated site.
Our creative team is adept at conveying concepts in
numerous ways. A'kit of parts' approach allows city
staff and community members to understand various
components that contribute to design by providing
a menu that can be expanded or reduced based
on feedback. 5111 will evolve initial conceptual
site layout sketches and diagrams into conceptual
alternatives utilizing an array of diagrams, precedent
imagery, landscape palettes, 2D and 3D vignettes,
and plan layouts to convey ideas.
