leadership of licensed landscape architects, our team
brings considerable experience in the execution of a
variety of public projects and proven ability to prepare
complete plans and specifications for project bid
advertisement. Design of project improvements will
be prepared in accordance with established design
criteria and conform to requirements of the City of
Santa Ana (CSA) and other governmental agencies
including, but not limited to the California Building
Code, ADA, CSA Standard Plans, and State Water
Ordinance Requirements in order to achieve project
objectives. The PS&E will be submitted to the City
at established contract documents milestones with
accompanying cost estimate and specifications.
Documents will include bid items and definitions, any
modifications to General and Special Provisions, and
incorporate technical architectural specifications. All
plans, the title sheet of the specifications, calculations
and reports will be signed and stamped by the
licensed professional landscape architect, architect or
engineer.
Task VIII - Sample Deliverables
• Project delivery schedule
• CAD drawings — demolition, hardscape, irrigation,
planting, site furnishings, sections/elevations, details,
material schedules.
• Supporting calculations and reports
-Sub-consultant drawings (e.g. civil, structural)
• Bi-Weekly project coordination meetings with City
during plan preparation phases per Task IV
• Provide milestone submittals for City review and
consultant coordination (i.e. 50%, 90%, 100%)
• ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude) Costs per Task IX
• Project manual/specifications book and bid schedule
Task IX - Cost Estimating
S111 can provide opinion of probable costs and
ROM pricing for design studies and conceptual
development phases, based on our experience
of costs with similar and recent projects. This is
necessary to establish a design that meets both
the anticipated budget and project criteria. For
projects of certain scale or complexity, and during
documentation we recommend a cost estimating
sub -consultant to provide detailed cost estimates
that associate with milestone submittals prior to
bidding. If Value Engineering of design is required to
reduce anticipated construction costs it is expected
to occur via 'redlines' to the concept package and
Cost Estimator will revise the ROM accordingly.
City is to provide written approval of project budget,
project scope, and design elements to be included in
Documentation.
The establishment of budget and design alignment
is expected to occur prior to development of contract
documents to establish if 'value engineering' of design
and revisions of documents to reduce construction
costs or if additional budget is required to meet
established project criteria. Value Engineering
of design and revisions to documents to reduce
construction costs after completion of Schematic
Design would be an additional service. City is
expected to provide soft and hard cost budget at the
onset of a project to assist in designing to budget.
Task IX - Sample Deliverables
• Attend meeting via teleconference with City to review
ROM costs and determine if project budget aligns with
proposed design.
• Opinion of ROM costs and analysis (e.g. cost of
tactical improvements vs. complete transformation)
17
