SCIT Catalog <br />READMISSION <br />An applicant who was a prior student and withdrew or was <br />dismissed from the school may he evaluated by a Readmission <br />Committee and may be required to attend a meeting with the <br />Readmission Committee prior to beginning the application <br />process. The members of the Readmission Committee will be <br />designated by the school. The Readmission Committee will review <br />the circumstances leading to the students' prior withdrawal or <br />dismissal from the school, which may include but is not limited to <br />violations of the Student Code of Conduct, unsatisfactory <br />academic progress, or lack of attendance. Upon review of the <br />circumstances leading to the prior students' withdrawal or <br />dismissal, the Readmissions Committee will make a <br />recommendation to the Director of Admissions whether or not to <br />allow the applicant to begin the application process. If the <br />Readmissions Committee recommends not allowing the applicant <br />to begin the application process, the Director of Admissions may <br />reject any application submitted by the applicant and the <br />applicant will not be allowed to reenroll in the school. <br />Prior students who were dismissed from the school for reasons <br />that Include, but are not limited to, violation of the Student Code <br />of Conduct, unsatisfactory academic progress, lack of attendance, <br />or inability to meet financial obligations to the school may not <br />reapply for admission to the school for a minimum period of six <br />months after the date the school determined the student was <br />withdrawn from the school. The Director of Admission may waive <br />this restriction for extenuating circumstances that led to the <br />student to being dismissed from the school. <br />Prior students who withdrew from the school due to a Military <br />service obligation are waived from evaluation by a Readmission <br />Committee and may return to their program of study when ready <br />to reenroll in the school. <br />CANCELED ENROLLMENTS <br />Any student who does not complete SCIT's enrollment process in <br />a timely manner or who cancels his or her enrollment prior to <br />beginning class may have their application canceled. If a new <br />student does not attend during the Attendance Census Period of <br />their first class, he or she may have their enrollment cancelled. In <br />such cases, the student will be entitled to refunds in accordance <br />with the Refund Policy and may be required to repeat the <br />Admissions Process if he or she later decides to seek admission to <br />the school. <br />NON-DISCRIMINATION POLICY <br />Southern California Institute of Technology does not discriminate <br />based on any legally recognized basis ("protected classes") <br />Including, but not limited to: race; color; religion; genetic <br />information; national origin; sex; pregnancy, childbirth, or related <br />medical conditions; age; disability; citizenship status; uniform <br />servicemember status; or any other protected class under federal, <br />state or local law in any of its programs, activities or employment <br />practices. Any person who believes that he or she has been or is <br />being subjected to discrimination based on the protected classes <br />specified above may submit a written complaint to the President <br />of the school and or may file a written complaint directly with the <br />U.S. Department of Labor, Civil Rights Center, 200 Constitution <br />Avenue N.W., Room N-4123, Washington D.C. 20210. Students <br />applying to or enrolled in the school who receive WIOA financial <br />assistance who believe they have been subjected to <br />discrimination based on the protected classes specified above <br />may additionally submit a written complaint to the Orange County <br />Workforce Development Board, 1300 S.
