This improvement is subject to the review and approval of the City of Santa Ana and <br />Caltrans. Per City requirements, the Project may be expected to pay a fair-share/local fee to <br />cover the Project's fair share of the full construction costs needed to implement these <br />mitigation measures. <br />■ Year 2040 Buildout Plus Project Recommended Improvements The following intersection <br />improvements are recommended to mitigate the impacts of the proposed Project under these <br />conditions. <br />➢ No. 8 — I-5 NB Ramps at Fourth Street: Construct an additional westbound right -turn lane. <br />Modify the existing traffic signal as necessary inclusive any modifications to the traffic <br />signal phasing. This improvement is consistent with the Traffic Impact Study for the Metro <br />East Overlay Zone in the City of Santa Ana. This improvement is subject to the review and <br />approval of the City of Santa Ana and Caltrans. The proposed Project is expected to pay the <br />full construction cost needed to implement these mitigation measures. <br />➢ No. 13 — SR-55 SB Ramps at Fourth Street: Modify the eastbound shared through/right- <br />turn lane to construct a free -right turn lane. Modify the existing traffic signal as necessary. <br />This improvement is subject to the review and approval of the City of Santa Ana and <br />Caltrans. Per City requirements, the Project may be expected to pay a fair-share/local fee to <br />cover the Project's fair share of the full construction costs needed to implement these <br />mitigation measures. <br />■ Project Specific Improvements — The following improvements are being implemented as part of <br />the proposed Project, which the Project is expected to pay the full construction costs: <br />➢ No. 9 — Cabrillo Park Drive at Fourth Street: Construct an exclusive southbound right - <br />turn lane. Modify the existing traffic signal as necessary. This improvement is subject to the <br />review and approval of the City of Santa Ana. <br />As an alternative to the above mentioned improvement, subject to review and approval of <br />City staff, an option southbound through/right lane in addition to the proposed southbound <br />right -turn lane is proposed to minimize the southbound right -turning vehicles from impeding <br />the through traffic. <br />■ Recommended Circulation Enhancement. The following improvements, which are expected to <br />be implemented or paid for by the Project, are recommended to be implemented to enhance <br />circulation within the Project Vicinity, thereby maintaining acceptable operating conditions: <br />➢ No. 25 — Cabrillo Park Drive at Park Court Place: Install two-phase traffic signal and <br />implement all necessary signing and striping improvements. This improvement is subject to <br />the review and approval of the City of Santa Ana. <br />
