(i) No underground work shall be performed prior to completion of Underground <br />Service Alert (USA) markings. <br />(ii) An electrical permit may need to be obtained prior to any additions to the City's <br />street light or other electrical system. <br />(iii) All extraordinary work completed by Contractor shall be invoiced time and material <br />as specified on Contractor's bid proposal <br />(c) Contractor shall respond to requests by City for extraordinary work within 24 hours of <br />the request. Work shall start in a timely manner. Contractor shall dispatch personnel, <br />materials and equipment on a daily until work is completed unless conditions do <br />not allow work to be performed. <br />7. Emergency Service <br />The Contractor shall provide emergency service to the City twenty-four hours a day, seven <br />days a week upon City's request. Unless stated by the City at the time of request, the <br />contractor will need to ascertain whether request is of an emergency nature requiring <br />immediate response. <br />Failure or malfunction of the street lighting system or interruption of normal operation as <br />to create confusion or public hazard is considered emergency nature. <br />(a) The contractor shall provide qualified personnel at the location within 30 minutes of <br />receiving emergency request. <br />(b) The Contractor shall make immediate or temporary repairs to City owned streetlight <br />pole, service pedestal knockdowns, or damage caused by vehicle collision, acts of <br />God, vandals, or as required because of a public safety hazard. If that is not possible <br />due to the extent of the damage, sufficient temporary repairs shall be made to safely <br />the area. In no event shall the electrical system be left exposed causing a safety hazard <br />to the public. <br />8. Compensation For Routine And Extraordinary Maintenance <br />(a) Routine Maintenance: <br />Compensation for routine maintenance of street lighting system shall be per <br />contracted unit price. Said compensation shall include all labor, material, equipment <br />and overhead/profits. <br />(b) Extraordinary Maintenance: <br />Compensation for extraordinary maintenance of street lighting system shall be per <br />contracted unit price. Said compensation shall include all labor, material, equipment <br />and overhead/profits. <br />For work not listed in the bid list, compensation shall be based on agreed lump sum <br />price or time and material basis. <br />(i) Materials: The City shall pay the Contractor for materials used in extraordinary <br />maintenance, the Contractor's cost from the supplier plus the percentage specified <br />City of Santa Ana RFP 24-046 <br />Page Al-12 <br />
