Ry Co. 4th St. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Grmbb, seconded by MoPhee and carried, <br /> <br /> a comm~ittee consisting of Trustees Grubb and Alderman, <br /> gngineer ~inley and Fire Chief Young, were appointed <br /> to investigate and report on the proposition of putting <br /> a walk across Santiago Creek on North Main Street and <br /> connecting the same with the present bridge. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> Geo. F. Heil appeared before the Board with a petition <br /> and requested that the water main on South Broadway <br /> from Third Street to ~ubbon Street be incraased to a <br /> fou~ inch main. On motion the matter was referred to <br /> Trustees Alderman, Grubb and Superintendent Reid. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> A petition signed by J.A. Preston, et al, asking for <br /> <br />Santa Fe St. the installation of electric light8 at Second and <br /> Third Streets on Santa ~e Street was referred to <br /> Trustees Greenleaf and McPhee. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> A conmunication from Health Officer Dr. Olark com- <br /> $~laining about the unsanitary condition of West Fifth <br /> Street between Main and Sycamore Streets was on motion <br /> ordered filed. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> The following report was submitted by Trustees Grubb <br /> and Alderman , a committee appointed to investigate and <br /> report on natural gas for the consumereof the City of <br /> Santa Ans. <br /> <br /> "Mr. President, your Committee to secure natural gas <br /> for Santa Aha, beg leave to report the result of their <br /> ~e~otiations and submit the proposal for your consider- <br /> t~on. <br /> The offer of the Birch Oil Company for gas deliver- <br /> <br /> sd to the Oity Limits, wholesale,and the proposi~ion of <br /> the Southern ~ounties Gas Company were eubnitted to two <br /> separate competent gas authorities in Los Angeles. Both <br /> advised us that the offer of the Southern Counties Gas <br /> Company was the safest and best offer. <br /> <br /> Your Committee recommends that the offer of the <br /> Southern Counties Gas Oompany be accepted. The offers <br /> of the Birch Oil Comps. ny and the Southern Oounties Gas <br /> Company are attached hereto as part of this report.. <br /> <br /> The foregoing report was approved and adopted by <br /> the following vote: Ayes, Trustees Alderman, MoPhee, <br /> Greenleaf, Grubb and Ey.
