On motion of Trustee Chapman, seconded by Neff and carried, s~plIc~tions of $. V. Nabors, E. G. Stephenson, and Vern F- Mohn for appointment as Police Officers were referred to the Police Committe, On motion of Trustee McPhee, seconded by Chapman end carried, invitation to attend 8th annual convention o~' League of Calif. F~unicipe!ittes to be held at Monterey, Calif. October 8th to 10th wes accepted placed on fi]e. On m~ ion of Trustee Chapman, seconded by Neff and carried, retort of He~]th Dep,rtme~t for month of Au;~ t was referred to tbs Fin~ ce Committee. Ou motion of Trustee Ch~pman, seconded by Neff sn~ carried, the C~erk wes inrtructed to drew warrant in favor of O. Brashears & Co. in amount of $447.31 covering assessment against City property for the i~provement of West Walnut Street. On motion of Trustee McPhee, seconded by Chapman and carried, matter of lighthouse traffic light was referred to e Committee: Trustees Neff ~nd Coilfer and C~ty Engineer were appointed as Committee. A petition representing 84.69% percent of fronta;e o~ West' Santa Clara Ave., from Main to Greenleaf asking for paving of street was presente~ On motion of Trustee Neff, seconded by Chapman end carried, City Engineer and Attorney were instructed to start proceedings to include all improvements on abo~e portion of West Santa Clara.
