In Re ~esolution of Intention ho. i~S - Valencia St. In Re Resolution ho. laS9 - of Intention Wellington Ave. Lacy Streets. On motion of Trustee Chalmnen, seconded by Collier and carried, foll~ing report from City Engineer with reference above sewer line was read end recom,- mendation ordered carried out at earliest possible date: "Inasmuch as the sewer line on East and West Fourth Street from Ross Street to French Street is complete in every respect and that the old line which now exists and was constructed underneath the store buildings has been condemned by the Realth authorities, I suggest that some action be taken by your ~onorabl Board causing those who are connected with the condemned line to connect to the new sewer which has been constructed to relieve that conditiom. '! personally inspected the condition of the old sewer line today and talked with various property c~ners who ale subjected to damages from time to ~ time. They are very anxious to make such connection~. Furthermore I fo~d that the line is in a very |. weakened condition and carrying an over capacity of ~ sewage. I would suggest that each and every property owner is now connected to the old sewer line be notified at once to connect with the new line. In my Judg~ne thirty days will be suf~ clent time to make such connections and that people be notified that said line will be discontinued. The Plumbing Inspector and the City Engineer Ehould give the people their full cooperation and held in this matter, Also, a copy of the ~tter from the ~ealth Board should accompany said notice'as above stated. I find in some cases that those who occupy corner lots may connect into side streets if they so d~si~ as these sewers were constructed at the time the Fourth Street sewer was built for the~ purple.
