H. <br /> <br />Hadley, Manager of the Kress Store was appointed spe- <br /> <br />cial]officer without pay. <br />,, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Goode, seconded by McBride and <br />carried, the Clerk was authorized to file wi~h the <br />County Recorder a Notice of Completion for the work and <br />improvement of Grand Avenue, from Chestnut Avenue to <br />Fourth Street, Chestnut Avenue from ~cClay Street to <br />Grand Avenue as set forth in the contract with Daniel <br />Dakavich. <br /> <br />Written protests were read and oral protests were heard <br />against the installation of sn ornamental lighting sys- <br />tem in the Wilshire Lighting District; Mr. D. E. Ford <br />asking that his name be withdrawn from the protests. <br /> <br />~n motion of Trustee McBride, seconded by Goode and <br />carried, hearing of protests under Resolution of Inten- <br />tion No. 1842 covering installation of ornamental l~ght: <br />in the Wilshire Lighting District, was continued to the <br />next meeting of the City Councils City ~gineer to <br />Check protests and report back. <br /> <br />Written and oral protests were read aud heard against <br />the establiahment of a set-back line on seventeenth <br /> <br />Street from santiago to Mabury and on East and West <br /> South Main Street and a portion of North Main street <br />First ~treets/ Petitions were also read and heard for <br /> <br />the widening and installation of ornamental lights on <br />F~st First Street. On motion of Trustee McBride, secon, <br />dod by Goode.~and carried, hearing of protests under <br />Resolution of Intention No. 1838 to establish set-beck <br />lines upon East and West Seventeenth Street, East and <br />West First Street, South Main Street and a portion of <br /> <br />North Main Street, was continued to the next meeting of <br /> Co~missi~ <br />the City Council~ and referred to the Planning/for <br /> <br />recommendation. <br /> <br />Oral protests were heard against and opinions expressed <br />in favor of the establishment of a set-back line upon <br />North Main Street, from First Street to ~txth Street, <br />and ~outh Main stroet ~rom Edinger Street to the <br />ly City Limits. On motion of Trustee Knox, seconded by <br />Goode and carried, hearing of protests under Resolution <br />of Intention No. 1845 to establish set-back lines upon <br />portions of North and South Main Streets, was continued <br />to the next meeting of the City Council and referred to <br />the Planning Commission for recommendation. <br /> <br /> <br />
