In Re Application Doss & LevJis. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Rowland and carried, permission was granted J. C. Metzgar, of the Republican Com-i mittee, to use Birch Park for a political meeting to be held October 18th at 7:30 P.~. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Rowland and carried, the application of W. J. Smdth for permission to conduct ~ wholesale and retail poultry market at 1202 S. Main Street, was referred to the Planning Commission. The application of W.J. Smith was referred back to the Coun- cil by the Commission stating that the business of slaughterk lng poultry should be carried on in the Light Industrial Zone and cannot be conducted in the Neighborhood Business Zoi~e. On motion of Trustee Rowland, seconded by Bruns and carried the application of W. J. Smith was referred to a committee to investigate conditions and report back. Trustees Penn and Rowland were appointed as the committee. ,, On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Rowland and carried, the application of Mr~. Ysry Foster for a permit to conduct s poultry slaughter business at 927 S. Main Street, was referred to the Planning Commission. The recommendation of the Planning Commission was resd stat. lng that s~ch business could not be conducted in the Neigh- borhood Business Zone and on motion of Trustee Bruns, secoD- dod by Penn and carried, the application of Mrs. Mary Foster was referred to a committee of Trustee Penn and Rowland to investigate and report back. . On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Rowland and carried, t.he application of Mary Ellen Rice for permission to sell jams, jellies and marmalade at her residence, 324 E. Walnut Street, was referred to the Planning CoFamission. The Plan- ning Commission referred the application back without recom- mendation and the Chair appointed Sanitary Inspector Frisby to investigate the application and report back. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the application of Harry W. Bedford to operate a Producer's Retail Market on West Third Street between Birch and Rces Streets, was denied on recommendation of the co~ittee on investigation. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Rowland and carried, the application of Doss & Lewis for a permit to install and conduct a service station at the southwest corner of Bush
