Harper. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Legal Opinion <br /> <br />of Attorney General. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />tentative Map Tract #978, being a reversion of acreage and <br />within the three mile limit of Santa Aha, presented by the <br />Orange County Planning Commission, was referred to the Plan- <br />ning Commission for approval. <br /> <br />A petition signed by ninety-one residents and taxpayers was <br /> <br />· presented requesting that a uniformed policeman be detailed <br />at the dancehall at Fourth and Van Ness Streets to abate <br />rowdyism, intoxication etc. On motion of Trustee B~uns, <br />seconded by Penn and carried, the petition of residents and <br />taxpayers was referred to the Police Commissioner and Chief <br />of Police with power to act and with the reco~aendation to <br />detail an officer at the dance hall whenever dances are held <br />,, <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the application of the Y. M. C. A. of Santa ~ to solicit <br />the sum of $11,000.00 as a membership drive during the per- <br />iod of January 15th to 31st, 1935, was granted. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the bond of the Star House Movers, Inc., of Los Angeles, <br />in the amount of $100Q.00 to cover housemoving, was referred <br />to the Chair for approval or disapproval. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the communication and Ordinance No. 44 of the Metropolitan <br />Water District were received and the Clerk instructed to <br />post the Ordinance in accordance with the law. <br /> <br />Mayor Warner appoir~ted Trustee Bruns, City Engineer McBride <br /> <br />and City Auditor Hanks as a committee to assist Miss Nell <br />Bemus and Mrs. Roy Beall in decorating a float for the <br /> <br />Tournament of Roses in Pasadena on New Yearts Day. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />and on recommendation of the Police Commissioner and Chief <br />of Police the application of W. J. Harper to conduct a New <br />and Second Hand Store at 902 E. Fourth Street, was granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the legal opinion of U. S. Webb, Attorney General, with <br />reference to legal status of the City Councilmen appointed <br />to fill vacancies caused by resigmations, was received and <br />the city Attorney instruc%ed to submit copy to P.W.A.officia <br /> <br />So <br /> <br /> <br />
