251 <br /> Santa Ana City Hall. <br /> July ~Oth, 1934. 7:30 P.~I. <br />City Council met in regular adjourned session. <br />Neeting called to order by Nayor Warner. <br />Present: Trustees A. F. LeGaye, Fred C. Rowland, <br />W. H. Penn, PlunEer W. Bruns, E. G. Warner. <br />Absent: Trustees None. <br /> <br />In Re On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Rowland and car- <br />ApPlication tied, the application of R. T. Ashby for the privilege of <br />R. T. Ashby. using Birch Park, Thursday evening, August 9th, after the <br />band concert for political speech by Justus S. Wardell, <br />candidate for Governor, was granted. <br />In Re On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Brmns and carried, <br />Application permission was granted for the use of Birch Park on the <br />W. R. Robb. evening of August 4th, for political debate between R~v. <br />Russell Stroup and W. E. Robb, conc~m~Lug the Epic Plan of <br />Upton Sinclair and its support of President Rooseveltts <br />policies. <br />In Re On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Rowland and car- <br />Application tied, Antonio Fernandez was granted permission to hold <br />Antonio Fermandez. revival meetings and health lectures at 1323 W. Fourth <br />Street for approximately two months, for the purpose of <br />educating Spanish people in the matter of health. <br />In Re A communication was received from Mrs. Mary Gertzen reis- <br />Communication tive to alleged damage to the value of her property <br />Mrs. M~ry Gertzen. located at 902 W. Sixth Street due to activities at the <br />Municipal Bowl, stating that her income has been practi- <br />cally eliminated due to her inability to retain tenants. <br />She requested a substantial reduction in taxes on this <br />property. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns <br />and carried, communication was received and filed for the <br />reason that the City Council does not fix the assessed <br />valuation on property. <br />In Re On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />Report of the report of the Health Department for the quarter end- <br />Health Dept. ing June 30th, 1934, was received and referred to the <br />F~nance Committee. <br />In Re In connection with the affidavit filed by A. M. Caspari <br />Affidavit alleging that the City of Santa Ana is persecuting him <br />A. M. Caspari. ~ relative to liquor violations, Judge Mitchell reported <br /> <br /> <br />
