On motion of Trustee <br />Penn,. ~onded b~ Rowland and carried, the applications <br />were referred to the cormntttee appointed to investigate <br />solitictors for fUnds. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Rowland and car- <br />ried, t~e application of MacFarlane Electric for permissio <br />to hang an electric sign for the Hotel Santa Ana at 606 <br /> <br />N. Main Street was granted unde~ supervision of the Elec- <br />trical Inspector and the application of Cope Electric Com- <br />pany to hang an electric sign for the Stag Pool Hall at <br /> <br />314 E. <br />tot to <br /> <br />4th Street, was referred to the Electric~ Inspec- <br />check for approval. <br /> <br />On motion of Trus tee Penn, seconded by Rowland and carried <br />the application of the Upton Sinclair Club for Governor <br />for permission to hold a street parade on the evening of <br />Saturday, August 18~h, 7:50 P.M., was granted under the <br />supervision of the Police Department. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Rowland and car- <br /> <br />ried, the report of W. T. Lambert, County Auditor placing <br />Santa Ana's valuation for the year 1934-193~ at <br /> <br />$1~,968,815.00, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Rowland and car- <br />ried, the application of Clinton Lee for permission to <br />drive a taxicab I'or C. F. F~idleman was granted on recom- <br />mendation of ~he Taxicab Corm~ittee. <br /> <br /> City Engineer ~cBride reported that he had surveyed the <br /> <br />City Hall property at Third & Main Streets, at the request <br />of the architects, and found that the building immediately <br />· south of the City Hall property apparently encroached 3/10 <br />of a foot on the west end of the lot and 4/10 of a foot on <br />the east end of the lot. On motion of Trustee Rowland, <br /> <br />seconded by Penn and carried, the Chair was authorized to <br />appoint a committee to contact the property owners of the <br />building for the purpose of having an adjustment made. <br /> <br />Trustees LeGaye and Bruns were appointed as the committee. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Rowland and carried <br />the report of. the Purchasing Agent was accepted and the <br /> <br /> <br />
