In Re Bids on City Printing. Applications of the Unemployed Association of Santa Ana, Inc. ( Unit #lS) and the Mountain View Home, 984 Menlo Ave nue, Los Angeles, were read requesting permission to soli- cit funds in the City of Santa Ana. On motion of Trustee Penn,. ~onded b~ Rowland and carried, the applications were referred to the cormntttee appointed to investigate solitictors for fUnds. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Rowland and car- ried, t~e application of MacFarlane Electric for permissio to hang an electric sign for the Hotel Santa Ana at 606 N. Main Street was granted unde~ supervision of the Elec- trical Inspector and the application of Cope Electric Com- pany to hang an electric sign for the Stag Pool Hall at 314 E. tot to 4th Street, was referred to the Electric~ Inspec- check for approval. On motion of Trus tee Penn, seconded by Rowland and carried the application of the Upton Sinclair Club for Governor for permission to hold a street parade on the evening of Saturday, August 18~h, 7:50 P.M., was granted under the supervision of the Police Department. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Rowland and car- ried, the report of W. T. Lambert, County Auditor placing Santa Ana's valuation for the year 1934-193~ at $1~,968,815.00, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Rowland and car- ried, the application of Clinton Lee for permission to drive a taxicab I'or C. F. F~idleman was granted on recom- mendation of ~he Taxicab Corm~ittee. City Engineer ~cBride reported that he had surveyed the City Hall property at Third & Main Streets, at the request of the architects, and found that the building immediately · south of the City Hall property apparently encroached 3/10 of a foot on the west end of the lot and 4/10 of a foot on the east end of the lot. On motion of Trustee Rowland, seconded by Penn and carried, the Chair was authorized to appoint a committee to contact the property owners of the building for the purpose of having an adjustment made.
