Santa Ana City Hall. August 17th, 1936. 7:30 P.M. City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to order by Mayor R~land. Present: Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, W. H. Penn, Fred C. Rowland. Absent: Trustees Ernest H. Layton. Each Trustee having received a copy of the Minutes, further reading of the Minutes of July 20th, 1936, was dispensed with on motion of T~stee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried. In Re Application S .A. Kenne i Club. In Re Request of Mrs. C.E. Bressler. In Re Applicati on Townsend Clubs. In Re Request of S.A. Development Co. In Re Application Tubbs & Timmons. In Re Application Charity Adams. # On motion of Trustee Stuns, seconded by Smith and carried, the application the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #131 and the Santa Aha Kennel Club for a free permit to conduct a Dog Show on October 17th and l@th at 415~ W. Fourth Street, was granted. . On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the request of Mrs. C. E. Bressler, Chairman of the House and Grounds Committee of the Ebell Club, that another street light be placed on French Street midway between Sixth and Stafford Streets, was referred to the Street Commissioner and City Engineer with power to act. # Upon the recommendation of the Police Commissioner and Chief, the application of the Townsend Clubs of Santa Ana for a free permit to hold dances at the Palms Ballroom each Tuesday eve- ning, was granted on motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Smith and carried. # On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the request of the Santa Ana Development Company not to erect parking meters in the Grand Central Block unless said meters are erected at the same time on every business block in the downtown section of the City, was received and filed. . On motion of Trustee Stuns, seconded by Smith and carried, the application of Tubbs & Timmons for a permit to erect a two-family apartment hous$ at the southwest corner of Nine-' teenth and Jefferson Streets, was referred to the Planning Commission for recomm~ndation. # On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Smith and carried, the applicatic~ of Charity Adams that the property at 311 W. Sth Street be rezoned to permit Dr. H.B. Christiansen to conduct his office at said location, was referred to the Planning Commission for recon~nendation.
