Santa Ana City Hall. <br /> <br />August 17th, 1936. 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />City Council met in regular session. <br /> <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor R~land. <br /> <br />Present: Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, <br /> W. H. Penn, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br /> Absent: Trustees Ernest H. Layton. <br /> <br />Each Trustee having received a copy of the Minutes, <br />further reading of the Minutes of July 20th, 1936, <br />was dispensed with on motion of T~stee Smith, seconded <br />by Bruns and carried. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application <br /> <br />S .A. Development <br /> <br />Co. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application <br /> <br />Tubbs & Timmons. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Application <br /> <br />Charity Adams. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Stuns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br /> the application the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #131 and <br /> the Santa Aha Kennel Club for a free permit to conduct a <br /> Dog Show on October 17th and l@th at 415~ W. Fourth Street, <br /> was granted. <br /> <br /> . <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, <br /> the request of Mrs. C. E. Bressler, Chairman of the House <br /> and Grounds Committee of the Ebell Club, that another street <br /> light be placed on French Street midway between Sixth and <br /> Stafford Streets, was referred to the Street Commissioner <br /> and City Engineer with power to act. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br />Upon the recommendation of the Police Commissioner and Chief, <br />the application of the Townsend Clubs of Santa Ana for a free <br />permit to hold dances at the Palms Ballroom each Tuesday eve- <br />ning, was granted on motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by <br />Smith and carried. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the request of the Santa Ana Development Company not to erect <br />parking meters in the Grand Central Block unless said meters <br />are erected at the same time on every business block in the <br />downtown section of the City, was received and filed. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Stuns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the application of Tubbs & Timmons for a permit to erect a <br />two-family apartment hous$ at the southwest corner of Nine-' <br />teenth and Jefferson Streets, was referred to the Planning <br />Commission for recomm~ndation. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Smith and carried, the <br />applicatic~ of Charity Adams that the property at 311 W. Sth <br />Street be rezoned to permit Dr. H.B. Christiansen to conduct <br />his office at said location, was referred to the Planning <br />Commission for recon~nendation. <br /> <br /> <br />
