Gonzalez for permission to use <br />Birch Park, September 16th, in the afternoon, for band con- <br />cert and program conducted by the Federal Band, celebrating <br />Mexican IndependenCeDay, was granted. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, <br />leave of absences from the <br /> <br />seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> <br />State were granted Floyd W. Howard <br /> <br />Chief of Police for a period of ten days, August 12th to 22nd <br />and J. G. Mitchell, City Judge, for a period of forty days <br />beginning August 29th. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns snd carried, the <br />the communication of Leland Auer submitting a proposed budget <br />for four concerts by the Santa Ana Municipal Band for the <br />season of 1~36 in amount of $840.00, was taken under advise- <br />ment. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Smith and carried, the <br />applicatic~ of Gordon Rase for a permit to drive a taxicab <br />for F. H. Williams, Courtesy Cab Company, was granted on <br />recommendation of the Taxicab Commission. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns aud carried, the <br />applications of Electrical Contractors to han~ electric signs <br />at the following places of business, were granted upon the <br />approval of the Electrical Inspector and to be hung under his <br /> <br />supervision: <br /> <br /> Chas. Fourth St. <br /> <br />seconded by Bruns and carried, the <br /> <br />petition of the Veterans' Welfare Board for the cancellation <br />of certain taxes assessed to E. H. Fuller and Mildred W. <br />Fuller and to Alex Lacy and Winifred Lacy, was granted and <br />the Clerk instructed to advise the County Auditor Of the <br />Council's action. <br /> <br /> <br />
