Council Chambers, Santa Aha City Hall. August 2~th, 1936. ?:30 P.M. City Council met in regular adjourned session. Meeting called to order by Mayor Rowland. Present: Absent: Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. Trustees W. H. Penn. In Re Orange County League of Municipalities. In Re Communication City of Santa Monica. In Re Communications on Parking Meters. In Re Crafts Shows. In Re Report--1915 Improvement Bond Act Committee. In Re Application F. Russell Hardcastle. On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the communication of the Orange County League of Municipali- ties relative to the monthly meeting to be held on Thursday, August 27th, 1936, at 6:30 P.M., in the Legion Hut, Newport Beach, was received and filed and all members urged to attend ,, On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the communication of the City of Santa Monica inviting the City officials to attend the 3$th Annual Convention of the League of California Municipalities to be held in Santa Monic~ September 9, 10, ll and 12th, was accepted and filed. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the communications of the Chamber of Commerce and of Mrs. Frank Clark objecting to the installation of parking meters in Santa Ana, were received, accepted and filed. On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Smith and carried, the application of De Molay and Jobs Daughters of Santa Ana for a free license permit and free electrical permit to con- duct and sponsor Crafts Tent Show to be held in Santa Aha, October 12th to 1Sth, at the southwest corner of Fourth and Garfield Streets, was granted. On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the communication of Harold P. Huls, Chairman of the 1915 Improvement Bond Act Oommittee, submitting a report of the Special Counsel of said Committee, was referred to the 0ity Attorney to acknowledge and for study to be referred back to the City Council. # On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the application of F. Russell Hardcastle for a special permit to mover his business to 109 E. Seventh Street, was referred to the Planning Commission. On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, the property posted at 109 E. Seventh Street was ordered/for special uses and the Joint hearing date set September 8th, 19~6, in accordance
