APPROVED: Mayor of the-City of Santa Aha. Clt ~rk. Council Chambers Santa Ana City Hall. October 18th, 1957. 7:50 P.M. City Council met in regular session. Meeting called to o~der by Mayor P~wland. Present: T~ustees Plummet W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. Absent: Trustees None. Each Trustee having received a cop~ of the Minutes, further reading of the Minutes of October 4th and llth, 1957, was dispensed with and on motion of Trustee Layton the Minutes of October llth, 1957, relative to adoption of Resolution to acquire Property for Parks,was amended ~ l-ea~ By adding the follo~ng to the title of the Reso- lutien:'the property referred to being the 7.62 acres belonging to J. W. Sackman, being West and contiguous to the City Bowl' and on motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the Minutes were approved. In Re Communication Hallowe'en Celebration. In Re Or. Co. Armistice Day Celebration. In Re Communication Cal. Sewage Works Assn. LuRe Appointments Pep. Elect. Inspectors. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Smith and carried, the Chair was authorized to appoint a committee with power to act relative to the invitation of the Merchants &Manu- facturers Assn. to enter a float in the parade of the lath AnnuaI Hallowe'en Celebration in Anaheim, 0ctober2Bth,l$5?. Trustee Bruns, Purchasing Agent Banks and Mayor Rowland were appointed as the committee. # On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, A. G. Cooke, Manager of the request of/the Orange County Armistice Day Celebration was granted for permission to parade through the City on their"pep tour', Tuesday, October 26th, and the City to fur- nish suitable escort if necessary. On motion of Trustee Smi~, seconded by Bruns and carried, the com~unication of the Calif, Sewage Works Association acknowledgln~ Santa Ana's invitation to hold their Tenth Spring Conference in our City, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, the recommendation of the Chief of Police was approved appointing W. B. Moreland and Walter Whiteman as Deputy Elec- trical inspectors for the purpose of checking radio inter- ference.
