Warner. <br /> <br />carried, the City Clerk was instructed not to accept applica- <br /> <br />tions for permits to conduct Wrecking or Junk Yards outside <br /> <br />of the Industrial District. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Smith and carried, <br /> <br />the application of Rev. Borg & Anderson for permission to <br /> <br />distribute notices announcing their evangelistic meetings in <br /> <br />Santa Ana, was received and referred to the Police Commission <br /> <br />er and Chief. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> <br />the communication from the State Division of Highways relin- <br /> <br />quishing as State highway right-of-way a portion of Santa <br /> <br />Clara Avenue, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br /> <br />the application of Eugene Wood for a transfer of permit to <br /> <br />d~lve a taxicab for the Courtesy Cab Co~oany, was granted on <br /> <br />recommendation of the Taxicab Commission. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the <br /> <br />applications of Electrical Contractors for permits to hang <br /> <br />electrical signs, were granted under supervision of the <br /> <br />Electrical Inspector at the following locations: <br /> <br />Home 0il Co. <br />S.A. Wine & Liquor Spot <br />Robbins-Henderson Ltd. <br />Mrs. R. L. Dalton <br />M. Eltiste & Co. <br /> <br />319 S. ~in St. <br />927 S. Main St, <br />107 W. 5th St. <br />305½ Spurgeon St. <br />310 E. 5th St. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br /> <br />the Police Department were granted permission to purchase an <br /> <br />automobile from 0. R. Haan, providing car #3 or the 1935 <br /> <br />Plymouth Sedan is accepted in trade for the amount of $450.00 <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> <br />the following Resolution No. 2518 was adopted: <br /> <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA DO RESOLVE AS FOLLO <br /> <br /> As we pause from our daily tasks we should reflect on the <br />achievements of our predecessors who have guided the destinle~ <br />of our City in the years gone by. They have merited our <br />appreciation for their faithful performance and loyalty to <br />the duties assumed by them. <br />At this time our memory recalls the services of one who <br />served this City honestly and faithfully--MAYOR E. G. WARNER. <br /> On the 25th day of April, in the year of our Lord One <br />Thousand Nine Hundred and Thirty-seven, Mayor and Mrs. E. G. <br />Warner will have occasion to reJoine, and we, on behalf of <br />the citizens of Santa Ana, wish to extend our sincere felici- <br />tations to them, on the Fiftieth Anniversary of their Wedding <br />Day. <br /> The City Council therefore directs that the followir~ <br />resolution be spread upon its minutes as a permanent record <br />of its sentiments at this time: <br /> RESOLVED: That we do extend to former Mayor and Mrs. E. G. <br />Warner our felicitations on their Fiftieth Wedding Anniversa~ <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of April, 1937. <br /> <br /> <br />
