Council Oh_ambers Santa Ana City Hall. May 17th, 1~37. 7:30 P.M. City CounCil met in regular session. Meeting called to order by Mayor Rowland. Present: Trustees Plummet W. B~uns, Joseph P. Smith, W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. Absent: Trustees None.- Each Trustee having received a copy of the Minutes, further reading of the Minutes of May 5rd, 1957, was dispensed with and the Minutes approved on motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Smith and carried. In Re Application Mrs. Roy Corry. In Re Bids on Fire Pumping Engine. In Re Mayor Pro Tem. In Re Communication--Calif. Bafety Council, Inc. No written or oral protests having been filed, on motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the application of Mrs. Roy Corry for a permit to conduct a camp ground for camp cars and/or trailers at Sullivan and First Streets, wac referred back to the Planning Commission. On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion of 'Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, the applica- tion of Mrs. Roy Corry was granted under special use, to con- duct a camp ground for camp cars and/or trailers on property described as follows: Commencing at a point l~0 feet South of the N.E. corner of Section 10, Township § S., Range l0 W. S.B.B.M. thence West parallel to First Street 280 feet; thence South l~0 feet; thence East 260 feet; thence North IA0 feet to the point of beginning, excepting therefrom the area included~within Sullivan Street. # On motion Of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, proceed to open bids for one triple combination 1000 gallon pumping engine as follows: Knox & Stout Hardware Co. General Fire Truck Corp. ~rens-Fox Fire Engine Co. American-LaFrance & Foamite Industries Seagrave Corp. $12,760.00 sales tax include ~1~,500~00 $11,250.00 plus 13,0A~.O0 " 1A,46@.00 ~,21~.00 " 11,535.00 # On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the bids on fire pumping engine were taken under advisement and referred to a committee of Trustees Penn, Bruns and Layton and the Purchasing Agent. # Mayor Rowland asked to be excused and on motion Of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, TruStee Penn was appointed Mayor Pro Tem. # On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, the communica~ion of the Calif. Safety Council, Inc. relative to supporting Assembly Bill ~2063, which is the first step toward highway accident prevention, was referred to the Traffic Safety Commission.
