A. Harris for permission to move <br /> his office to his residence at 801 French Street, was refer- <br /> red to the planning Commission. The recommendation of the <br /> Planning Commission to deny the application of Dr. W. A. <br /> Harris was read and on motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by <br /> Layton and carried, the application of Dr. W. A. Harris was <br /> referred to special committee of the Council for investiga- <br /> tion. The Chair appointed Trtm tees Bruns and Layton. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> the application of Mary P. Matthews Walters to remodel a <br /> single family residence at 160~ E. Fourth Street into a two <br /> family apartment, was referred to the Planning Commission. <br /> <br /> On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion of <br /> Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the application <br /> of Mary P. Matthews Walters was referred to the Buildi~ <br /> Department for disposition. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Layton and carried, <br /> the communication of Grover L. Walters, Executive Secretary <br /> of the Joint Outfall Sewer Board, regarding the proposed re- <br /> building of Section #1 of the Sewer as outlined in the <br /> <br /> Kennedy Report, was ~eceived and filed and the Clerk instruc- <br /> the report of <br /> ted to advise Mr.~ Walters that copies of/Mr. Harry Jencks, <br /> <br /> Consulting Sanitary Engineer, for the cities and aanitary <br /> districts excepting the City of Santa Aha, had been received. <br /> . <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried, <br /> the application of F.P. Nickey Jr. Scoutmaster of Rotary <br /> Troop 24, for permission to establish five stands to sell <br /> fireworks, was granted without payment of license and under <br /> supervision of the Fire Chief and Chief of Police. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the communication of Wayne Holt of Garden Grove expressing <br />his views on the parking meter question and protesting agains <br />the installation of same, was referred to the Council as a <br />whole. <br /> <br />On motion cf Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> again <br />the communication of the Chamber of Commerce/requesting the <br /> <br />Council not to install parking meters in Santa Ana because of <br />the opposition of leading merchants and the adverse attitude <br />of their customers, was referred to the Council as a whole. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the application of the Pay-Less Markets, Inc. to use a 28" <br />d~p curtain to be hooked onto their present awning at the <br /> <br /> <br />
