Harris for permission to move his office to his residence at 801 French Street, was refer- red to the planning Commission. The recommendation of the Planning Commission to deny the application of Dr. W. A. Harris was read and on motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, the application of Dr. W. A. Harris was referred to special committee of the Council for investiga- tion. The Chair appointed Trtm tees Bruns and Layton. # On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the application of Mary P. Matthews Walters to remodel a single family residence at 160~ E. Fourth Street into a two family apartment, was referred to the Planning Commission. On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the application of Mary P. Matthews Walters was referred to the Buildi~ Department for disposition. # On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Layton and carried, the communication of Grover L. Walters, Executive Secretary of the Joint Outfall Sewer Board, regarding the proposed re- building of Section #1 of the Sewer as outlined in the Kennedy Report, was ~eceived and filed and the Clerk instruc- the report of ted to advise Mr.~ Walters that copies of/Mr. Harry Jencks, Consulting Sanitary Engineer, for the cities and aanitary districts excepting the City of Santa Aha, had been received. . On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried, the application of F.P. Nickey Jr. Scoutmaster of Rotary Troop 24, for permission to establish five stands to sell fireworks, was granted without payment of license and under supervision of the Fire Chief and Chief of Police. # On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Smith and carried, the communication of Wayne Holt of Garden Grove expressing his views on the parking meter question and protesting agains the installation of same, was referred to the Council as a whole. On motion cf Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, again the communication of the Chamber of Commerce/requesting the Council not to install parking meters in Santa Ana because of the opposition of leading merchants and the adverse attitude of their customers, was referred to the Council as a whole. # On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, the application of the Pay-Less Markets, Inc. to use a 28" d~p curtain to be hooked onto their present awning at the
