On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, the property described as Lot 12, Morse Villa Tract, was ordered posted for special use and the hearing date set AuEust 2nd, 1937, in accordance with the application of H.E. Martin. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the application of M. P. Cumberworth for a permit to erect a duplex on North Flower Street, being Lot 3, Tract 200, was referred to the Planning Commission. On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion of Trustee. Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the property described as Lot 3, Tract 250, was ordered posted for special use and hearing date set August ?,nd, 19Z?, in accordance with the application of M. P. Cumberworth to erect duplex. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, the application of Ralph Jones, Chief Mentor of the Knights and Daughters of Tabor, for a free license and electrical permit for W.F. 'Babcock to show and display a carnival at 1525-27 W. Third Street, August 2nd to 8th, 1937, inclusive, was referred to the Police Commissioner and Chief with power to act. On motion of Trustee the com~unication of Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the E1 Rodeo Riding Club, Ltd. express- lng appreciation for the City's contribution towards' their trip to San Francisco to assist in the celebration of the opening of the Golden Gate Bridge, was received, filed and acknowledged. On mot ion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, R.A..Dilkey was appointed as a special police officer to work as crossing guard f~r the City of Santa Ana. ,, On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, Ray A. Wagner was appointed as a special police officer to work for Gilbert F. ~gneP as merchant police. . On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and. carried, Mayor Fred C. Rowland was granted permission to leave the State for a period of thirty days. On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the communication of J. A. Cranston, Chairman, Santa Aha Coordinating Council, requesting remuneration for his work
