Jones, RacLto Engineer. for the net price of $67~.00, for the Fire Department. # On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton ~nd carried, Ernest Fredric Zimmerman was appointed as a motor police officer and Daniel Martin Jones was appointed as police offi- cer of the City of Santa Ans. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, the Water Commissioner and Purchasing Agent were authorized to purchase 15000 feet of water pipe on the open market. On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Layton and carried, the Clerk was instructed to proceed to advertising as follows: Orange County Reporter .35~ .35~ open bid on city On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the bid of the Orange County Reporter for city advertisir~ was referred to the Finance Committee. On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the Clerk was instructed to proceed to open bid for all City printing for the coming year as follows: Bid in amount of $2329.60 submitted by eleven printers of Santa Aha, by the Orange County Commercial Printers Association and requesting the distribution of the printing as handled pre- viously. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, the bid of the Orange County Comr~.rcial Printers Assn.,was referred to the City Audt~r for distribution of the printing. # On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, the communication of Lelia Conner calling attention to the dangerous intersection aZ First and Harbor Boulevard, was referred to the Traffic Safety Commission. # On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Layton and carried, the following Ordinance entitled: "An Ordinance of the City of Santa Ana, California, fixing the amount of money ascertained to carry on the various departments of the City of Santa Aha, and to pay the bonded indebtedness falling due for the current year 1937-1938, and fixing the rate of taxation for the current tear 1937-1938, designating the number of cents on each 100.00 for ~he various funds of said City, on the w~ole of the taxable property of said City as set by the County Assessor of the County of Orange, State of California, and equalized by the Board of ~Upervisors of said County, and hereby levied on the whole of the taxable property of said City" was introduced, read, considered and placed on file for second reading. # On motion of Trustee Brune, seconded by Smith and carried, C.
