Fulton, President of the Native <br />Sons Parlor of Santa Aha, listing the Orange County units <br />which are participating in the parade at Santa Monica on <br />Admission Day, was received and Clerk instructed to advise <br />Mr. Fulton that the Council has under discussion plans for <br />the entrance of a float in the parade. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layt~n and carried, <br />the communication of The ~etropolitan Water District relative <br />to paying out of the municipal funds all or any portion of <br />the amount of the Water District tax which would otherwise <br />be levied upon property within the City of Santa Aha for the <br />fiscal year 1937-38, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the application of Fred Germain for permission to cut the <br />curb a distance of 36 feet on W. Fourth Street about 60 feet <br />west of VanNess Avenue on the north side to the street to <br />improve the entrance to his service station and closing up <br />two driveways totaling 45 feet, was referred to Street Com- <br />missioner and Street Superintendent with power to act. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of T~ustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the report of W. T. Lambert, County Auditor, stating Santa <br />Ana's estimated valuation for the year 1937-38 at $24,309,100 O0 <br />was received and referred to the Finance Committee. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and-carried, <br />the communication and petition of the Veterans' Welfare <br />for the cancellation of certain taxes assessed to E. C. <br />Rogers and Juna Rogers and to H. M. Secrest and Sue W. <br />Secrest, was referred to the Finance Committee. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruue, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the Clerk was instructed to proceed to open the bids for the <br />improvement of N.
