Wells & Bressler # On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, the communication of Harry C. Fulton, President of the Native Sons Parlor of Santa Aha, listing the Orange County units which are participating in the parade at Santa Monica on Admission Day, was received and Clerk instructed to advise Mr. Fulton that the Council has under discussion plans for the entrance of a float in the parade. # On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layt~n and carried, the communication of The ~etropolitan Water District relative to paying out of the municipal funds all or any portion of the amount of the Water District tax which would otherwise be levied upon property within the City of Santa Aha for the fiscal year 1937-38, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the application of Fred Germain for permission to cut the curb a distance of 36 feet on W. Fourth Street about 60 feet west of VanNess Avenue on the north side to the street to improve the entrance to his service station and closing up two driveways totaling 45 feet, was referred to Street Com- missioner and Street Superintendent with power to act. # On motion of T~ustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, the report of W. T. Lambert, County Auditor, stating Santa Ana's estimated valuation for the year 1937-38 at $24,309,100 O0 was received and referred to the Finance Committee. # On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and-carried, the communication and petition of the Veterans' Welfare for the cancellation of certain taxes assessed to E. C. Rogers and Juna Rogers and to H. M. Secrest and Sue W. Secrest, was referred to the Finance Committee. # On motion of Trustee Bruue, seconded by Penn and carried, the Clerk was instructed to proceed to open the bids for the improvement of N.
