City Council met in regular adjourned session. Meeting called to order By Mayor Rowland. Present: Trustees Plummet W. Bruns~ Joseph P. Smith, W. H. Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. Absent: Trustees None. Each Trustee having received a copy of the Minutes, further reading of the minutes of August 16th, lSth and 23rd, 1937, was dispensed with and the Minutes approved on motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried. ~n Re Annual Convention League of Cai.Municipalities. Council Chambers Santa Ana City Hall. September 7th, 1937. 7:30 P.M. On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, the communication of F.J. Rossi, President, Engineers~ Secti~ League of Calif. Municipalities, urging the City to send the City Engineer to the 39th Annual Corm~r~lon of the League of Calif. Municipalities to be held in San Jose, September 13th to 16th, inclusive, was received and request to be complied with and City Engineer to be sent to the Convention. On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, the communication of the Archer Bl~w Pipe & Incinerator Corp. with reference to their service for every kind of refuse, including garbage, etc., was received and filed and the Clerk instructed to acknowledge same. # On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Smith and carried, the resolution adopted by the Home Owned Business Association requesting and urging the Council to enact legislation ban- ning free dis tribution of advertising circulars of any nature in the City of Santa Ana, was referred to the Council as a whole for study. . On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, the communication of the Santa Ana Realty Board endorsing the action of the Home Owned Business Association relativ$ to distribution of advertisi~g in Santa Ana, was referred to the Council as a whole for study. . No written or oral protests having been presented, on motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, the applica- tion of Ronald Shearme to erect a duplex at 926 W. Pine was referred to the Planning Commission for recommendation. On recommendation of the Planning Commission and on motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and carried, the application of Ronald Shearme to erect a duplex at 926 W. Pine Street, was granted under special use.
