Pickard and C.E. Bressler as members of the <br /> Planning Commission, terms beginning July 1st, 1~37, were <br /> confirmed. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Bruns,~seconded by Penn and carried, <br /> the opinion of the City Attorney was accepted and filed and <br /> Trustee Smith was instructed to ascertain the attitude of the <br /> other Cities and Sanitary Districts of the Joint 0utfall <br /> Sewer Agreements relative to whether they wish to negotiate <br /> with the City of Orange for the withdrawal of that City from <br /> the Agreements. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Layton ~tud carried, <br /> the Mayor was instructed to invite the California Sewage <br /> Works Association to hold their annual spring convention in <br /> Santa Ana. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Layton and carried, <br /> the City Attorney was directed to draft an Ordinance to elimi <br /> nate the distribution of free advertising, circulars, etc. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, <br /> <br />the regulartory 0rdinance amending Section 14 of Ordinance <br />No. 658, which was passed for second reading August 18th, <br /> <br />1937, was tabled indefinitely. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the following Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br /> "An Ordinance establishing water rates in the City of <br /> .Santa Ana, prescribing rules and regulations governing <br /> consumption of water and fixing a penalty for the violation <br /> thereof, and repealing Ordinances in conflict herewith" <br /> <br />was read, considered, designated Ordinance No. 1052 and <br />passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Trustees Plummet W. Bruns, Joseph P. Smith, W. H. <br /> Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br /> TrusteeK None. <br /> <br /> Noes, <br />Absent, <br /> <br />Trustees None. <br /> <br />It was moved by Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn s~ud carried, <br />that inasmuch as the owners of property abutting and ext~ <br />into the bed of Santiago Creek have requested this City to <br />take some action to prevent damage to their properties by <br />flood waters, that the City Engineer and Attorney be instruc- <br />ted to endeavor to obtain permits or easements to use such <br />portions of the privately ow~ned lots as are in the Creek bed <br />for such purposes and waiving any and all claims for damages <br />resulting from any acts of this City in attempting to remove <br /> <br /> <br />
