P. Nelson to establish a twenty minute <br /> parking zone in front of his office and residence, 519 West <br /> First Street, was received and referred to the City Engineer <br /> and Lieut. B.A. Hershey for study and also to make a survey <br /> of the area below First Street on Broadway,. Walnut Street <br /> and others and report back with a recommendation on handling <br /> the parking situation in that district. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Penn and carried, <br /> the application of T. Dunstan Collins for permission to con- <br /> duct a band concert by the ~YA Band in Birch Park, Saturdays <br /> between 2 and 5 P.M., as long as the weather permits, was <br /> granted. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the application of Rev. Chas. A. Logan for a free permit to <br />hold charity dances on the third Saturday of each month in <br />the E.C. Hall, for the benefit of the ~exlean Catholic Church <br />was referred to Trustee Bruns and the Chief of Police to <br />report back at the next meeting. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the applications of electrical contracte~s for permission to <br />hang electric signs for the Three-O-Two Cafe at 502 N. Main <br />Street and for the Union Dollar St~re, at 501 E. Fourth Stree <br />ware granted under supervision of the Electrical Inspector. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the request of C. H. Eckles to discontinue the operation of <br />the East Fourth Street, Wright Street and East First Street <br />line and eEtend the South Birch, Orange Avenue line, was re- <br />ferred to the Taxicab Commission. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Layton and carried, <br /> <br />the monthly reports of the city officers for the month of <br />September, were referred to the Council as a whole. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by S~uns and carried, <br />the Clerk was instructed to draw warrants according the deman, <br />numbering from 801 to lO17 inclusive, as audited by the <br />Finance Committee. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the following Ordinance entitled: <br /> <br /> 'An Ordinance of the City of Santa Aha prohibiting the <br /> distribution of handbills, dodgers, circulars, newspapers, <br /> booklets, and othe~ printed matter or advertisment in <br /> certain places; repealing Ordinances in conflict herewith, <br /> and providing for penalties for violation thereof" <br /> <br /> <br />
