Xellogg. <br /> <br />APPROVED: <br /> <br /> Noes, <br /> <br />Absent, <br /> <br />wa~ lntrodUoed, read, considered and placed on file for <br />second reading. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the following Resolution entitled: <br /> <br /> "Resolution of the City Council of the City of Santa Ana <br /> calling a special election to submit to a vote of the <br /> electors of said City an Ordinance placing the members <br /> of the Police and Fire Departments under Civil Service <br /> rulee and regulations" <br /> <br />was read, considered, designated Resolution No. 2§54 and <br />passed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes, Trustees Plummet W. Rx,Ans, Joseph P. Smith, W. H. <br /> Penn, Ernest H. Layton, Fred C. Rowland. <br /> <br /> Trustees None. <br /> <br /> Trustees None. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, <br /> the quotations covering fire and theft, public liability, <br /> property damage and full coverage collision and plate glass <br /> on city's fleet of automobiles and equipement, were received <br /> as follows: <br /> <br /> Pacific Indemnity Company $22~.21 <br /> General Insurance of America <br /> <br /> and on recommendation of the Auditor, t~he quotation of the <br /> <br />Pacific Indemnity Company in amount of $2248.21 was accepted <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Penn, seconded by ~ and carried, <br />the report of the City Auditor for the first quarter cf the <br />fiscal year 1957-58, was received and filed. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />0ral protests were heard against ~he proposed handbill 0rdi- <br />nance and on motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Penn and <br />carried, the w~tten protests presented against the Ordinance <br />prohibiting free distribution of handbills, etc. were receive <br />and filed for consideration in two weeks. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruno, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the report of the committee was accepted that Cypress Avenue <br />between St. Andrews and DeLhi Road will be kept sprinkled <br />for the remainder of this year and the street will be seal- <br />coated next summer. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />More time was granted the committee on the application of <br /> <br />M.R. Eellogg to widen his driveway nine feet on Santa Ama <br /> <br />Boulevard near Roe Drive. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />~n motion of Trustee ~mith, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the City Council adjourned to Monday, October llth, 1957, at <br />7:50 P.M., in the Council Chamber. <br /> <br /> <br />
