Russick for an extension <br />of her leave of absence from the Police Department of Santa <br />Ana, was referred to the Civil Service Commission. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the communication of the Blind Workers Guild of California <br />requesting cooperation in an educational campaign to give <br />publicity to the State's White Cane Law, was referred to the <br />Traffic Safety Commission and the Lion's Club for recommenda- <br />tion to the Council. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />on motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the request of the Chamber of Commerce for a loading zone in <br />front of their building, sufficient to accomodate two cars, <br />was referred to the Chief of Police and Lieutenant Hershey <br />for recommendation. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the communication of Phil M. Brown, Secretary of the Business <br />Men's Association, with reference to complaints of local mer- <br />chants and others, regarding solici~tions cohducted in the <br />past by or under the sponsorship of members of the Police and <br />Fire Departments of the City of Santa Ana, was received and <br />referred to the Council as a whole. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />the recommendation of the Chief of Police was complied with <br />and the appointments of John L. Casey and Harold H.
