Main Street, and fixing the <br />date of January 30th, 193@, to grant application if no rea- <br />sons in writing are presented to the City Clerk aEainst said <br />application. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motien of Trustee Smith, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the applications of Electrical Contractors to hang electrical <br />signs, were granted subject to the approval of the Electrical <br />Inspector~ and to be hung under his supervision as follows: <br /> <br />Dan-Dee Shoe Factory 422 N. <br />Safeway Stores 507 W. <br />Fred H. Smith, County Clerk, and certified <br /> <br />copy of minute order with reference to the approval of the <br />on property located <br />Board of Supervisors to cancel taxes and assessments/on So. <br /> <br />Broadway between Borchard and Edinger Streets, were received <br />acknowledged and filed. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Layton and carried, <br />the communication of B. J. Smith, County Clerk, and certifie. <br />copy of minute order with reference to the approval of the <br />Board of Supervisors on- the work of cutting tules and wil- <br />lows in the Santa Ana River bed as outlined in report of <br />Engineering Committee of the Joint 0utfall Sewer Agreement, <br />were received, acknowledged and filed. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the application of C. H. Eckles to make changes in his bus <br />routes and schedules, was referred to the Taxicab Commission <br />with power to act and report back to the Council. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Brunm, seconded by Smith and carried, <br />L. B. Hiett was appointed as a special police officer without <br />pay for the duration of time while in the employ of Gilbert <br />Wagner, of the Merchants PAtrol, as recommended by the Chief <br />of Police and Police Commissioner. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Bruns,. seconded by Smith and carried, <br />William Alexander Smith was appointed as a special police <br />officer ~tthout pay during the ti~e employed by Gilbert F. <br />Wagner of the Merchants Patrol, as recommended by the Chief <br />of Police and Police Commissioner. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of T~ustee Smith, s~conded by Bruns and carried, <br />the Mayor and Clerk were authorized to execute and draw a <br />warrant in favor of the Bankamerica Company to be dated <br />December 24th, 1938, in the amount of $50~221.~2, covering <br />the sum borrowed and interest to date. <br /> <br /> <br />
