Martin. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Communication <br /> <br />Forestry Board. <br /> <br />In Re <br /> <br />Electric Signs. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> the communication of C. E. Bressler, Secretary of the Plan- <br /> ning Commission, expressing sincere appreciation of the very <br /> fine luncheon, entertainment and bonded good will provided <br /> by the City Council on May 23rd and recommending that the <br /> third annual luncheon be held earlier in the year of 1939, <br /> was received and filed. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> the communication of the Orange County League of Municipali- <br /> ties with reference to meeting Thursday, June 23rd, at 6:45 <br /> P.M., at Wilson's Cafe, Balboa, was received and all official <br /> and heads of departments urged to attend. <br /> <br /> . <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Layton, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br /> the communication of the Automobile Club of Southern Califor- <br /> nia requesting that boulevard stop signs be placed at the <br /> intersection of Fourth and Mabury Streets, was received, <br /> acknowledged and referred to the Traffic Safety Commission. <br /> <br /> # <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Bruns and carried, <br />the communication of B. Martin, Los Angeles, presenting a <br />plan to run free moving pictures, which will be educational, <br />musical, showing industrial occupations, pictures on travel <br />and animated sound cartoons for the children, to be shown in <br />our public park, was referred to the standing committee com- <br />posed of Phil Brown, Trustees Layton and Bruns. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />A communication of the Santa Ana Forestry Board was read <br />relative to thirty ornamental park-way trees being cut and <br />destroyed on Lowell, Freeman and Washington Street and on <br />motion of Trustee Bruns, seconded by Layton and carried, a <br />reward of $500.00 was ordered posted for information leading <br />to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons who <br />maliciously destroyed trees on said streets, subject to the <br />approval of the City Attorney as to the legality of said <br />reward. <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Smith, seconded by Penn and carried, <br />the applications of Electrical Contractors to hang electrical <br />signs, were granted subject to the approval of the Electrical <br />Inspector and hung under his ~pervision as follows: <br /> <br /> Elvin Milbrat 2201 N.
