WendS, Pastor, Calvax~ <br />Church, relative to parking ~ituation in vicinity of <br />Fruit and 6th Sts., was read and on motion of Trustee <br />Deckert, seconded by Haan and carried, matter was <br />referred to Supt. of Streets and Street Commissioner to <br />report back at next meeting. <br /> <br />Comunication from Phil M. Brown, Secy. Civil Service <br />Comission, advising of adoption of Amendment to Rule. IV <br />Section 16, of the Official Rules and Regulations, to <br />permit emergency appointees to take future recruitment <br />examinations at the discretion of the Civil Service <br />Board, was read, and on motion of Trustee Deckert, <br />seconded by Haan and carried, the Amendment to the <br /> <br />Civil Service Ordinance was approved. <br /> <br />Request of Southern California Telephone Co. for <br />temporary parking zone to permit parking of two cars <br />without payment of parking meter fee, at 201 E. 8th St., <br />was read and on motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by <br />Dixon and carried, the request was denied. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Dixon, seconded by Deckert and <br />carried, the bond of R.M.Crookshank, City Judge, written <br />by the Hartford Accident and Indemnity Co., in the <br />amount of $1,000.00, was approved. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and <br />carried, house moverts bond of M.&.M. House'Moving Co., <br />with Carrol F. Chase and Walter Frand, shown assureties <br />in the mnoun$ of,$1,O00.O0, was approved. <br /> <br />Request of Mrs. Edith Ellison, V18 So. Van Ness Ave. and <br />Jess Strand, VIA So. Van Ness Ave., that acacia tree in <br />parking in front of V18 So. Van Ness Ave. be removed was <br />read and on motion of Trustee Haan, seconded by Dixon <br />and carried, matter was referred to the Forestr~ <br />Department. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Dixon and <br />carried, application of Victor W. Boylam to drive a <br />taxicab £or the Broadway~a~ was granted and Clerk <br />instructed to issue license. <br /> <br />On recommendation of the Chief of Police and on motion <br />of Trustee Deckert, seconded by Haan and carried, <br />applications of John Bruce Thompson and Finley Emo~y <br />Waffle, to drive taxicabs for the Broadway Cab Co., were <br />denied. <br /> <br /> <br />
