<br /> On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, report
<br /> of the Juvenile Bureau for the month of Sept. 1948, was received
<br />
<br /> and filed.

<br /> On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the
<br /> Chairman was authorized to execute a release of the lease executed
<br /> December ~ t, 1946, between City of Santa Ara and Paul R. and
<br /> Evelyn G~stlin, and a purchase of their property rights as set
<br /> out in said lease.

<br /> On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, the
<br /> Chairman was authorized to accept by letter the conditions and
<br /> terms as expressed in Resolution of the Board of Supervisors of
<br /> Orange County, dated October 5th, 1948, granting $40,47S.00 for
<br /> the purpose of defraying part of the cost of improving West
<br />
<br />Seventeenth Street, in the City of Santa Ana.

<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br />the recommendation of the Planning Commission granting a variance
<br />to James Geo. and Agnes L. Hi~d to permit expansion of a nnn-
<br />conforming weaving and knitting business by the addition of a
<br />building approximately 26' x 32' and the waiving of the rear yard
<br />requirement, with respect to the new addition, at 1642 E. 4th St.,
<br />subject to certain conditions, was approved and application .
<br />,~ranted.

<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br />the ~ecommendation of the Planning Commission granting a variance
<br />to Everett A. White to permit two-story apartment buildings on a
<br />parcel approximately 240'x260' at the northwest corner of Chestnu
<br />Avenue and S. Lyon Street, subject to certain conditions, was
<br />~pproved and application granted.
<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br />application of deBremond B. Moffman, Joseph B. Chmilowski and Mrs
<br />Flora Bowley Hoffman, dba Santa Ana Motors, Inc., at 114 South
<br />Main St., was granted and Clerk authorized to issue license and
<br />deposit application fee of $200.00.

<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried, the
<br />following Resolution entitled:

<br /> City C~rk to advertise for bids for the
<br /> construction of curbs and sidewalks in
<br /> Santa Ara Memorial Park, in the City of
<br /> Santa Ara. and fixing the prevailing
