<br />Communica%ion from City Engineer was read stating that improve-
<br />ments in Tract No. 1260 have been completed and bond in the amoun'
<br />of $~,000.00, submitted by Roy Russell, may be released. On
<br />motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried,
<br />communication was received, filed and bond ordered released.

<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried,
<br />request of the Club California for permission to conduct public
<br />dances at the V.F.W. Hall, on Saturday nights, was granted.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, request
<br />of Siler Nash Company for permission to have Powell Neon Sign Co.
<br />install an over size Neon sign on the Nazarene Church Building at
<br />1602 North Van Ness Avenue, was granted.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, request
<br />of Engineer to p~rchase a used Jeep was granted subject to approva
<br />of Joint Outfall ~ewer Executive Board.

<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried,
<br />petition of Neill F. Belanger requesting that Ordinance No. 1002
<br />prohibiting dancing within the City limits of Santa Ana, be
<br />rescinded, ·was denied.
<br />
<br />Communication was read from Fire Chief advising that all Fire
<br />Alarm boxes have been refinished and are now in service and
<br />recommending that some person be secured to capably inspect the
<br />poles owned by the City that have Fire Alarm installations.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried,
<br />request was referred to Building Department for investigation and
<br />
<br />~®po=t.

<br />A proposal was read from The Pitometer Comps'ny for a Waste Water
<br />Survey to be made aimed to detect an estimated 17% loss of water.
<br />On recommendation of the City Engineer and on motion of Trustee
<br />Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, Mayor and Clerk were autho~
<br />izod to execute contract with The Pitometer Company covering this
<br />work for a period of one year.

<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, the
<br />reports of the Police Department and Juvenile Bureau, for the
<br />
<br />month of October, 1948, were received and filed.

<br />On recommendation of the City Engineer and on motion of Trustee
<br />
<br />Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, Mayor an~ Clerk were
<br />authorized to execute agreement and supplemental agreement between
<br />
<br />the Junior College District and the City of Santa Aha relative to
<br />
<br />the closing of Fifteenth Street when necessary changes are include~
<br />
<br />as set out in Engineer's communication.
<br />
<br />This being the date set for public hearing to amend the Zoning
<br />
<br />Ordinance ~o reclassify Lots 7, S, 9, 10, ll and 12 in Block B and
<br />Lots 7 to 18 inclusive in Block C, ali in Bartlett's Addition, and
<br />Lots 10, ll and 12 in Block A, and Lots l, 2, 3, 10, ll and 12 in
<br />
<br />Block D, and Lots l, 2 and ~ in Block E, from R-2 to C-2 District,
<br />and no written or oral protests having been received, on motion of
<br />Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, the recommendation
