On motion of Trustee Reed, Seconded by Mandy and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission granting a variance to A.F. and Minnie M. Jacques to permit moving of an existing residence and a pattern making shop, at 801 E. 17th St., to the northeasterly portion of the lot on which it now exists, subject to certain conditions, was approved and application granted. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Cormnission granting a variance to Mary L. Leonard and Francis Johnson to permit an existing located beside an existing residence at 1637 E. 4th St. to be con vetted into an additional residence for rentalpurposes on the same lot, subject to certain conditions, was approved and application granted. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Mandy and carried, the recommendation of the Planning Commission granting a variance to Joseph M. Amstadt to permit erection for office, storage, and distribution of bottled soft drink and other merchandise on property fronting on the north side of Central Avenue between Main and Cypress Streets, subject to certain conditions, was approved and application granted. On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, the following Ordinance entltled: "An Ordinance approving the annexation of that portion of Orange County Water Works District No. 6 lying and being outside of the City of Santa Ana, California" was read, considered, designated Ordinance No. 12~7 and passed by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees Noes, Trustees Absent,~ Trustees On motion of Trustee following Resolution Courtney R. Chandler, Allen A. Mandy, Virgil H. Reed, R. Carson Smith. None W.J.Cheney Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, the entitled: "Resolution of the City Council of the City of Santa Anaapproving third supplemental memorandum~f agreement for expenditure of 1/4 cent gas tax allocated for state highways" was read, considered, designated Resolution No. 3712 and passed Courtney R. Chandler, Allen A. Mandy, Virgil R. Reed, R. Carson Smith.
