None W.J.Cheney On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Mandy and carried, the request of Orange County Refrigeration Co. for a change of ~ zone from no parking to a loading zone at 302 E. 5th St., was denied. ,, On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, the application of Cancer Prevention Society to solicit funds was denied. . On recommendation of the committee, Bascom Rush, operator of Junk business being conducted at the northwest corner of Fourth and Olive Streets, was granted two additional weeks to complete imp ro veme nt s. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, communication from Planning Commission recommending that North Olive Street be extended from th~ center line of W. Fifteenth Street to a property line approximately 148 feet northerly there- from, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, request that a stop sign be placed at the alley exit on Wright Street, and that a check be made on all alleys for possible traffic hazards, was tabled until report is received from City Attorney. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, Clerk was inst~ructed to write first party on petition requesting that sidewalks be constructed on the west side of Flower Street between Fairview and Wilshire, suggesting that property owners be contacted in an effort to have them pay their proportionate share of the cost of constructing such sidewalks. On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried, the Chairman was authorized to appoint a committee to investigate the advisability of the City of Santa Ana setting up its own assess- ment and tax collecting office. Committee of Auditor Martien, as Chairman, and Trustee Mandy was appointed. On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried, the City Council adjourned. M~yor oi" the Cl%~-of Santa Aha.
