Communication from City Engineer was read stating that improve- ments in Tract No. 1294 have been completed and bond in the of $10,000.00, submitted by Oakmont Company, may be released. On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler and carried, communication was received, filed 'and bond ordered released. Communication from City Engineer was read stating that improve- ments in Tract No. 1280, on the extension of Westwood Avenue have'been completed. ~ On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, matter was referred to City Attorney for recommendation. Communication from City Engineer was read stating that improve- ments on the alley running east and west between Flower and Partos Streets, 200 feet south of Seventeenth Street, have been completed On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, matter was referred to C~ty Attorney for recommendation. Communication from City Engineer was read stating that work has been completed covering the installation of sewer lines on West 17th St. between King and-Flower Streets, and bonds in the amounts of $6,921.00 respectively, submitted by Pernel Barnett, may be On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and communication was received, filed and bond ordered On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, request of Manuel Esqueda, Chairman, League of United Latin ~erican Citizens, for permit to conduct a public dance at the V.F.W. Hall Dec. 31st, 1948, was granted subject to certain conditions: that Clerk contact Mr. Joe Miller, at M~W~Hall to determine if hall will be available on that date and that hours of dancing be from 8:30 P.M. to midnight. On motion of Trustee Chandler, request of Antonia Mendez for seconded by Reed and carried, permission to operate pool hall at 2309 South Main Street was referred to Trustee Mandy and Chief of Police for recommendation and report back. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, notification of the State Board of Equalization of alcoholic beverage application made by Truman R. Claridge, Orval M. and ,Myrtle R. Kuykendall, 2321 N. Main St., was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, application of Dan W. McDonald to drive taxicabs was granted and ~,ermit ordered issued. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by MandY and carried, Vic and Marion Silver were granted two alternatives to correct the situation on the construction of their building at 408-07 W. 17th St., which is located on 18 inches of City property; namely, to ~emove building immediately, or to enter into written with City, subject to approval of City Attorney, that building will be removed from City's property at owner's expense within sixty days after written notice and such agreement to be recorded in County Recorder's office.
