<br /> A petition was read with thirty signatures attached, requesting a
<br /> boulevard stop sign or traffic signal to be installed at 1st and
<br /> Lacy Streets. On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Chandler
<br /> and carried, the petition was referred to the Traffic Safety Com-
<br /> mission for recommendation.

<br /> Petition was read with thirty-three signatures attached, requesti~
<br /> the removal of the Eugenia trees from parking of the 1300-1400
<br /> blocks N. Garnsey St. and replace them with Cocos Plumosa. On
<br /> motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the
<br /> ~etition was referred to the Forestry Board for recommendation.
<br /> Moved by Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the re-
<br /> commendation of the Planning Cormmission on the Variance of Helen
<br /> Turnbaugh, for a Beauty Parlor in her residence, at ll6 Roe Drive,

<br /> On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the
<br /> recommendation of the Planning Commission on the Variance of
<br />
<br /> Besse H. Martin, for rebuilding, relocating, or replacement of an
<br /> existing single-family dwelling located on the rear of the lot at
<br /> 906 S. Birch St., was approved and application granted.

<br /> On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, the
<br /> recommendation of the~Planning Commission granting a Varience to
<br /> Sears-Roebuck & Co. to establish an automotive service station at
<br /> the Southeast corner of Pomona and Broadway, and permitting the
<br /> extension of the proposed main store building~ subject to cert~iA
<br /> conditions, was approved and application granted.

<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, militar2
<br />authorities were ordered notified that the City of Santa Ana will
<br />discontinue the rental payment on the Santora Company property
<br />adjacent to the City Hall ninety days after notification.
<br />
<br />An additional prote~t was read against the establishment of an
<br />Amusement Center in the 2100 Block of South Main St. After lengthy
<br />discussion both for and against the proposed Center, on motion of
<br />Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, the application of
<br />Emil P. Berta, Raymond J. Hulbert and Isador¢ DeBernardi to
<br />operate an Amusement Center, consisting of one minature train, one
<br />auto car ride, one airplane ride, one merry-go-round and one con-
<br />fectione~y stand on Lots 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, and l~ in Block A,
<br /> submitted
<br />Tract 897, was granted subject, to conditions/by the Planning Com-
<br />mission Deoartment, and the ~limination of all music or noise
<br />
