On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Cheney and carried, the City Council adjourned to Monday, August 9th, 1948, at 5:00 P.M. City Clerk M~yor of the Citf~o~f Santa Ana. Council Chamber Santa Aha City Hall August 9th, 1948. 5:00 P-M. City Council met in adjourned regular session. Meeting called to order by Mayor Smith. Present= Trustees Absent: Trustees In Re Budget 1948-1949 W.J.Cheney, Courtney R. Chandler, Allen A. Mandy, Virgil H. Reed, R. Carson Smith. None On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, the Budget, as submitted by the Auditor for the fiscal year 1948-1949, In Re Tax-Rat& 0rdina~ce 1948-1949 was approved. On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Che. ney and following Ordinance entitled: carried, the "An Ordinance of the City of Santa Aha, California, fixing the amount of money ascertained to carry on the various departments of the City of Santa Aha, and to pay the bonded indebtedness falling due for the current year 1948-1949, and fixing the rate of taxation fo~ the current year 1948-1949, designating the number of cents on eaDh $100.00 for the various funds of said City, on the whole of the taxable property of said City as set by the County Assessor of the County of Orange, State of California and equalized by the Board of Supervisors of said County, and hereby levied on the whole of the taxable property of said City" was introduced, read, considered and placed on file for second In Re Request to pUrchase truck J.0.Sewer reading. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, request of Joint 0utfall Sewer Engineer that City of Santa Aha, as contracl lng City, purchase one - ~ ton pickup tr~ck, for use at the treat- ment plant, was referred to Purchasing Agent and Joint 0utfall In Re Beverage Application Sewer Engineer for study and report back. On motion of Trustee Cheney, seconded by Chandler and carried, notification of the State Board of Equalization of alcoholic beverage application made by Edmond T. McMahon, 433 W. 4th St., In Re Taxicab Applications was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, the applications of George C. Ringlet and Clarence Hellard to drive In Re Mutual Aid Agreement (Fire Calls) Communication Fire Chief taxicabs, were granted and permits ordered issued. Communication was~ read from Fire Chief requesting clarification of Mutual Aid Agreement whereby the Fire Department agrees to furnish two engines to assist any City wXthin a twenty-five mile radius. On motion of Trustee Read, seconded by Mandy and carried, matter was referred to Attorney for checking to determine if agreement is In Re Request driveway NE Cot Grand at 8rd St. Gabina Solis still in effect. . Communication was read from Gabina Solis requesting that a 83 ft. driveway be installed at the northeast corner of C-rand Ave. and Third St. for use of new factory and market. On motion of Trustee
