<br />Reed, seconded by Mandy and carried, matter was referred to

<br />~rustee Cheney and Engineer for recommendation and report back.

<br />On motion of Trustee Mandy, seconded by Reed and carried, the
<br />
<br />reports for the month of July, 1948, submitted by Police Depart-
<br />
<br />ment and Juvenile Bureau, were received and filed.
<br />
<br />On recommendation of the Joint Outfall Sewer Engineer and on moti¢
<br />
<br />of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chene~ and carried, the bid of Byron~
<br />Jackson Company, in the amount of $1,696.13, was accepted coverin
<br />the purchase of one 300 gallon per minute a~ 68 P.S.I. pump to be
<br />
<br />used in conjunction with chlorination equipment, at the Joint
<br />
<br />0utfall Sewer.
<br />
<br />On recommendation of the Auditor and on motion of Trustee Chandle~
<br />
<br />seconded by Cheney and carried, the 'bid of the Register Publishin
<br />
<br />Company was accepted on City advertising for the period August
<br />
<br />1st, 1948 to July 51st, 1949.
<br />
<br />On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, the
<br />
<br />Mayor was authorized to enter into escrow to purchase the west
<br />
<br />10 ft. of Lot 10 in Block "B" of Bartlett's Addition, in the
<br />amount of $1,600.00, from P.F.Einik and Marian Eintk.

<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried,

<br />the

<br />following Resolution entitled:

<br />"Resolution Accepting Grant Deed"
<br />
<br />· from P.F.Einik and Marian Einik, husband and wife, conveying
<br />
<br />certain real property to the City of Santa Ana, said property
<br />
<br />being described aa follows: The west 10 feet of ~ot 10, in Block
<br />"B" of Bartlett's Addition, was read, considered, designated
<br />
<br />Resolution No. 5688 and passed by the following vote:

<br />from Carole J. Herrick, a married woman, conveying certain real
<br />
<br />property to the City of Santa Ana, said property being described
<br />as follows: A-strip of land 60.00 feet in width the centerline
<br />
<br />of
<br />
<br />which is described as follows:
<br />Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of Lowell
<br />Street with the monumented centerline of Fifteenth Street
<br />as shown on Tract 1052 as recorded in Book 55, page
<br />Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County$ California;
<br />rum-tng from said point of beginning North 0 09' 00- East
<br />147.04 feet along the northerly extension of the said center-
<br />line of Lowell Street to within 1.00 foot of the north line
<br />of that certain property described in deed recorded June
<br />24, 1944 in Book 1265, page-AS, Official Records of Orange
<br />County, California, said line being 872.89 feet west of and
<br />parallel to the centerline of Flower Street.
<br />Excepting therefrom any portion in Flower Street.
<br />Also, that certain strip of land lying adjacent to and
<br />northerly of Fifteenth Street as shown on said Tract 1052,
<br />the width of said strip to be sufficient to make the northerly
<br />half of Fifteenth Street exactly 28.00 feet in width, measured
<br />at right angles, extending from the northerly extension of
<br />the east line of said Tract 1~$2 westerly to the northerly
<br />extension of the west line of said Tract 1052!
