<br /> Bid proposal of Paul M. Johnson was read offering to make trash
<br /> and garbage collections for a flat rate of ninety cents per water
<br /> meter. The Mayor stated that under the proposal it would cost
<br /> the City $125,127.00 a year for trash and garbage collections
<br /> based on an estimated 13903 water meters and that a savings of
<br /> approximately $73,000.00 a year would be made if the collections
<br /> were handled by a private concern. On motion of Trustee Reed,
<br /> seconded by Martin and carried, the Chairman w~s authorized to
<br /> appoint a committee, the Mayor to act as Chairman, to investigate
<br /> the possibilities of the contract and to report back with recomm~
<br /> ations. Trustees Martin, Reed, Cheney and City Engineer, were
<br /> appointed, as committee.
<br />
<br /> On motion of Trustee Martin, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br /> request of Southern Counties Gas Company of California for permiss~
<br /> to construct five driveways twenty-five feet or more in width, at
<br /> their plant located at 1032 E. 1st St., was referred to Trustee
<br /> Cheney and City Engineer with power to act. On motion of Trustee
<br /> Cheney, seconded by Chandler and carried, request for driveways
<br /> was granted.

<br /> On motion of Trustee Martin, seconded by Reed and carried, request
<br /> of F.W.Lcckhart, 2010 Oak Street for stop signs at the intersectior
<br /> of St. Andrews and O~k Streets was referred to a committee to
<br /> investigate and report back. Chief of Police, was appointed, as
<br />
<br /> committee.
<br /> , Trustee Martin was excused from the Meeting at 2:40 P.M.
<br /> On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, the
<br />
<br /> Joint bid and estimate of Milford W. Dahl and Lester Van Tatenhow
<br /> covering codification of City ordinances was referred to the
<br />
<br /> Council, as a whole, for further study and recommendation.

<br /> referred to the Council, as a whole, for further study and

<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried,
<br />communication from Tighe E. Woods, Housing Expediter, reference
<br />Resolution requesting termination of rent control, and advising
<br />that an amendment to the rent regulations had been issued, effect-
<br />
<br /> ive September 29th, 1950, was received and filed.

<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried,
<br />communication from Vlrgil F. Frizzell, Potentate, A1 Malaikah
<br />Temple, expressing thanks for assistance rendered during parade
<br />
<br />held October 14, 1950, was received and filed.

<br />Communication was read from Barker Bros. requesting permission to
<br />.bid on furnishings for new Fire Station and on motion of Trustee
<br />Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carrie~, communicatlonwas
