<br /> requesting that examination for position of Superintendent of
<br /> Recreation be wltl~held temporarily until such time as the
<br /> Recreation Commission completes its deliberations, and on motion
<br /> of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, communication wag
<br /> received and filed.

<br /> Communication was read from Secretary, Civil Service Board
<br /> advising that action was deferred on request to establish class-
<br /> ification and examination for position cf Utility Clerk for the
<br /> reason that request did not indicate approval by Council majority
<br /> and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried,
<br /> communication wam tabled for further study.

<br /> Communication was read from Secretary, Civil Service Board
<br /> recommending that classification and examination for position of
<br /> Personnel Director be deferred pending the anticipated adoption
<br /> of a charter form of government at the next regular City election
<br /> in April, 1951, and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney
<br /> and carried, communication was tabled for further study.
<br /> Communication was read from City Engineer advising that improve-
<br /> ments within the boundaries of Tract No. 1301, being Van Ness
<br /> Avenue, Delhi Road and Anahurst Place have been satisfactorily
<br /> completed, and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and
<br /> carried, bond submitted by L. & S. Construction Company, in the
<br /> amount of $11,000.00, was ordered released.

<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, request
<br />of John K. Colwell for permission to leave the State beginning
<br />October 24th and including November- 6th, 1950, was granted.

<br />On motlon~of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, request
<br />of H.M.Neighbour, Water Superintendent for permission to attend

<br />28th, 1950 inclusive, was granted.

<br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, the
<br />claim of Cora F. Sparks, in the sum cf $600.00, for alleged
<br />injuries sustained when she fell on broken sidewalk at the south-
<br />west corner of Walnut and Orange, was referred to the City Attorney
<br />and Insurance Carrier.
