Santa Ana City Hall Council Chamber November 2, 1950. 1:00 P.M. ~ity. Councll met in regular session. Meeting called to order by the Mayor. Present: Trustees Absent: Trustees John SY. Martin Jr., Virgil H. Reed, Allen A. Mandy. W.J.Cheney, Courtney R. Chandler. Each member of the City Council having received copies of the Minutes of October 19th, 1950, further reading of the Minutes was dispensed with and approved on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Martin and carried. In Re Petition - sidewalk W. side Valencia S. from 22nd St. A petition was read signed by ten property owners on the west side of Valencia street, south of 22nd Street, stating that they are sa$isfied with the location of the sidewalk as it now ~xists, which permits six feet of space between the curb and walk and on motion of Trustee Martin, s~conded by Reed and carried, the City Engineer was~instructed to accept the sidewalk as it now exists in In Re Request Wm.F.Hentges In Re Map Tract No. 1472 this particular area. On mot$on of Trustee Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, the petition was received and filed. Request of William F. Hentges was read for permission to place two houses on blocking on the corner of First and Sullivan Streets, an~ on motion of Trustee Martin, seconded by Reed and carried, request was granted not to exceed forty days. No. S.E.Sewer Dist.) 194 Street to 22nd Street, was approved, subject to approval of bond by the City Attorney. On motion of' Trustee Martin, seconded by Reed and carried, request of L~oyd F. Brogan, ll01 East First Street, for a twenty-minute parking zone was referred to committee to report back. City Engineer was appointed, as committee. . On motion of Trustee Martin, seconded by Reed and carried, communication fl-om Safeway Stores expressing appreciation for grant lng variance permitting additional off-street parking at 1438-50 Cypress Avenue, was received and filed. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, communication from O'Melveny & Myers-was received and filed, statI that the 1911 Act Proceedings for the construction of certain improvements in Assessment District No. 194, kno?m as the Southeas Sewer District have been examined, and in their opinion such proceedings have been t8~en in accordance with the laws and In Re Auction City surplus property In Re Communication Jim~ie Kazaroff Constitution of the State of California. . On motion of Trustee Martin, seconded by Reed and carried, the recommendation of the Council was approved and 1948 Packard sedan, formerly assigned to the Chief of Police, was declared surplus property and ordered listed for sale at auction to be held Novembe~ 2~th, 1950. Communication was read from Jimmie Kazaroff requesting opportunity~ to bid on contract for collection of garbage and trash and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, communication was received and filed. #
