On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, communication from Santa Aha Lawn Bowling ClUb expressing appreciation for the privilege cf using the lawn bowling greens in Santiago Park, was received and filed. On motion of T~astee Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, communication from Vernon J. Andrew complaining that the Compton g~rbage and trash collection men refused to pick up his trash, was received and filed. Communication was read from Secy. Santa Aha City Schools advising that at present there are no dedicated streets adjacent to the school site in southwest Santa Aha'and that the contractors are ready to start the necessary legal proceedings to dedloate the proper part of either Wllshire or Russell Avenue, or both, accor~ lng to Council wishes. On motion cf Trustee Chandler, seconded by Martin and carried, committee composed of Trustees Cheney, Chandler and Planning Engineer Parks was appointed to work with the School Board on this matter. On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, copy of communication from Garage Superintendent addressed to Civil Service Board advising that it will be necessary to re-employ of the released garage employees due to resignation of Ray Price, garage foreman, was received and filed. Communication was read from Director of Civil Defense advising that a shipment of 4,550 copies of booklet entitled Under Atomic Attack" will be forwarded for distribution, and on motion of Trustee Martin, seconded by Reed and carried, a supply of such booklets shall be left at the Information Desk in the Cit Hall, Police Department, the four Fire Stations and at the Public Library. # On motion cf Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, the bid of Sully-Miller Contracting Company on the resurfacing of West Fifth Street from Baker to Garnsey Streets was rejected, unopened and ordered ~e~urned due to the fact that bid was received after The time set out in the Notice Inviting Bi~s. On motion of Trustee Martin, seconded by Reed and carried, Chief of Police B.A.Nershey was appointed as Executive Officer of the Major Disaster Committee, as set out in Ordinance No. 1299.
