Water <br />District <br />(levying tax) <br /> <br /> Trustee Chandler, seconded by Martin and carried, the invitation <br /> was accepted with thanks. <br /> <br /> On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, <br /> communication from Santa Aha Lawn Bowling ClUb expressing <br /> appreciation for the privilege cf using the lawn bowling greens <br /> in Santiago Park, was received and filed. <br /> <br />On motion of T~astee Reed, seconded by Martin and carried, <br />communication from Vernon J. Andrew complaining that the Compton <br />g~rbage and trash collection men refused to pick up his trash, <br />was received and filed. <br /> <br />Communication was read from Secy. Santa Aha City Schools advising <br />that at present there are no dedicated streets adjacent to the <br />school site in southwest Santa Aha'and that the contractors are <br />ready to start the necessary legal proceedings to dedloate the <br />proper part of either Wllshire or Russell Avenue, or both, accor~ <br />lng to Council wishes. On motion cf Trustee Chandler, seconded <br />by Martin and carried, committee composed of Trustees Cheney, <br />Chandler and Planning Engineer Parks was appointed to work with <br />the School Board on this matter. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, copy <br />of communication from Garage Superintendent addressed to Civil <br />Service Board advising that it will be necessary to re-employ <br />of the released garage employees due to resignation of Ray Price, <br />garage foreman, was received and filed. <br /> <br />Communication was read from Director of Civil Defense advising <br />that a shipment of 4,550 copies of booklet entitled <br /> <br />Under Atomic Attack" will be forwarded for distribution, and on <br />motion of Trustee Martin, seconded by Reed and carried, a supply <br />of such booklets shall be left at the Information Desk in the Cit <br />Hall, Police Department, the four Fire Stations and at the Public <br /> <br />Library. <br /># <br />On motion cf Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, the <br />bid of Sully-Miller Contracting Company on the resurfacing of <br />West Fifth Street from Baker to Garnsey Streets was rejected, <br />unopened and ordered ~e~urned due to the fact that bid was <br />received after The time set out in the Notice Inviting Bi~s. <br /> <br />On motion of Trustee Martin, seconded by Reed and carried, Chief <br />of Police B.A.Nershey was appointed as Executive Officer of the <br />Major Disaster Committee, as set out in Ordinance No. 1299. <br /> <br />Roll Call Ayes Trustees W.J.Cheney, Courtney R.
