On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, communication from Civil Service Board submitting consensus of opinion concerning the employment status of the office of Personne Clerk in relation to the office of Purchasing Agent, as Chief cf Personnel, was received and filed. # On motion of T~ustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, the request of Leonzo~B. Fgrnandez and Ricardo Plasencia to conduct public dances at 838 E. let St., was referred to committee of Police Commissioner and Chief of Police for recommendation and report, subject to clearance from Bull~ing and Fire Departments. . On recommendation of the City Engineer and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, the Clerk was authorized to advertise for bi~ for 5000 feet of 12 inch, Class 150, Bell and Spigot, cement lined, cast iron water pipe. Communication was read from City Engineer, together with copy of letter from Public Works Officer, llth Naval District, relatlvetc entering into an agreement with the Navy for the construction of an 18 inch water line to the Marine Corps Air Station, E1 Toro from the Orange County feeder line of the Metropolitan Water District at Delhi Road and B~lstol Street. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, communications were received and filed. # On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, the City Engineer was instructed to prepare a Resolution requesting the llth Naval District to Join with the City in ~he construction of a water main.~oproximately 24 inches in diameter. . On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Cheney and carried, notification of the State Board of Equalization of alcoholic beverage application made by Fred A. Hendricks, 2019 S. Main St., was ~ecelved and filed. # On motion of Trustee Hartin, seconded by Reed and carried, the application of M.E.Peters to conduct the business of dealing in motor vehicles at 519 No. Broadway, was gu-anted. # On motion of Trustee Mamtin, seconded by Reed and ca~ried, the applications of Lawrence Edward Freeman and Robert A. Tracy, to d_vive taxicabs were granted and permits or~lered issued.
