(condition of Bowl) In Re Advertise for bids - trees in Prentice Park Communication was read from City Engineer advising that on the west side of Santa Ana Boulevard opposite LaVeta Avenue, an lnte~- section was built at the time that Santa Aha Boulevard wac con- et~ucted but at the present time there is no official railroad crossing at this.point. On motion of T~ustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, the City Attorney was instructed to prepare necessary application to the Southern Pacific Railroad to eetabli~ a railroad crossing at this location. . Communication was read from Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Co., requesting that action on proposed abandonment of that portion of Greenleaf Street between Santa Clara and Bonnie Brae be withheld until.satisfactory easements are obtained from the abutting prop- erty owners, and on motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Reed and carried, communication was received and filed. # On motion of Trustee Cl~ndler, seconded by Martin and carried, request of W.J.Cheney for permission to leave the State beginning June 9th through July 1st, 1950, was granted. , Communication was read from Secy. Santa Ana City Schools request- ing approvalof~plan and specification for construction of new concrete apron and curbing and an ~ddition of street width from 22 feet to 31 feet, at the Santa Ana College. On motion of Trustee Chandler, seconded by Cheney and carried, request for widening of driveway was approved. ,, On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, notification.of the State B~ard of Equalization of alcoholic beverage application made by Pauline E. ~ackett, 800 E. Washingto~ Ave., wac received and filed. # On recommendations of Fire Chief and Park Superintendent and on motion of Trustee Martin, seconded by Reed and carried, request of Flrements Benevolent Association for permission to stage public fireworks display at the Municipal Bowl, July 4th, 1950, was granted, ~ubJect to Fire Department regulations.~ # On motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, the application of A. Lee Staton to conduct the business of dealing in motor vehicles at ?20 .E. let Street,. was granted. # On motion of Trustee Martin, seconded by Reed and carried, the application of Edwa~dJ. Kirby to conduct the business of dealing in motor vehicles at 2002 South Main Street, was granted. # Communication was read from Park Superintendent reference condition of Bowl and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, matter was referred to committee for recomme~ ation. Building Inspector, Sidney Lowry and J. Ogden Markel, wet, appointed, aS committee. # On recommendation of the Park Superintendent and on motion of Trustee Reed, seconded by Chandler and carried, the Clerk was auth, ized to advertise for bids to pull and dispose of orange trees in Prentice Park. #
