226 <br /> <br /> All of the above materials shall comply with the re- <br />quirements as hereinbefore specified for that particular <br />terlal, and all broken stone or gravel shall consist of a <br />class "C" mi×ture of sizes, as hereinbefore specified. <br /> <br /> ShouXd there not be enough mortar to completely fill <br />the voids in the concrete, the ~eficiency shall be remedied by <br />reduclug the portion of gravel or broken stone used in the mix- <br />ture and not by adding e greater portion of sand. <br /> <br /> The ~mount of mixing water shall be the minimum <br /> <br />fty that will produce a workable ~fx. <br /> <br /> (a) V~AS~RIN0 ~!ATWRTA!S. For machine mi×ing sand and <br />gravel or broken sto~e shall be measured in whe~l barrows which, <br />when struck with a straight edge resting upon the sides, shall <br />have the eapsclty necessary to accurately mainta1~ the above <br />proportions. For hand mixing, the sand and gravel or broken <br />stone shall be messured in boxes. <br /> <br /> Every wheel barrow load or ~ox full of material used <br />must be struckw Ith a straight edge as aDove specified.
