RESOLUTION NO. 1934 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ADOPTING sPECIFICATIONS AND AWARDING <br />CONTRACT FOR MOVING THE SANTA ANA CENTRAL OFFICE~ <br />ELECTRICAL FIRE ALARM EQUIP~iENT, AND FURNISHING UNDER- <br />GROUND CABLE AND CONSTRUCTION WOHK CO~IPLETE FOR SAME <br />FOR THE CITY OF SANTA ANA. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it appearing to the City Council of the City of Sant~ <br />Aha, that an emergency exists in the removal of the electrical eqttfpmen~ <br />for the fire alarm system from the Central Office, and the furnishing <br />of undergrotuud cable and construction work in connection therewith, and <br />to delay said work and improvement would endanger the lives and propertl <br />of persons in the City of Santa Ana, and that by virtue thereof a case <br />of great public calamity exists, and that the public interests ~nd <br />necessity demands the i~ediate expenditure of public money to safe gual <br />life, health and property in the City of Santa Ana; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it satisfactorily appearing to the said City Councili <br />that the necessity for the i~nediate expenditure of such ~blic money <br />is in moving the Central Fire alarm station and furnishing underground <br />cable, and the construction work in completing the same for said fire <br />alarm system,'from the location near Third and Sycamore Streets to the <br />new fire hail'locations in the south part of said ~ity, which it is <br />necessary to have moved as soon as possible as the old Central Station <br />has been sold and the new fire station in the south pa~t of said City <br />is now in course of construction, and in case there is any delay in <br />making such change the life, health and property of inhabitants of <br />the City of Santa Aha would be endangered. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the specifications file~ <br />this 30th day of April, 1928 be and the same are hereby adopted as the <br />specifications for the work and improvement to be done unde~ said <br />contract. <br /> <br /> That the puo£ic interest and necessity demands the ~m~ediate <br />expenditure of public money to safe guard the life, health and property <br />of the inhabitants of the City of Santa Ana, and that an emergency <br />exists in moving the fire alarm system and construction of t~derground <br />cables and other work incidental thereto as hereinbefore stated, and <br />that The Gamewell Company~ a Corporation, has submitted a bid in v~itin <br />to move the Central Fire Alarm Station from the present location near <br />Third and Sycamore Streets to the new fire station in the South pa~t of <br />said City, of $18~8.00, and to furnish the underground cable and con- <br />struction work to complete the same for said fire alarm system for the <br />sum of $~00.00, all of said work and i~provement to be done according <br />to the specifications on file and hereby adopted, which amounts said <br />City Council determines are reasonable bids for said work and improve- <br />ment, and that it is f~r the best interest of the City of Santa Ana to <br />enter into a contract for said improvement for the considerations set <br />forth in said bid and as hereinoefore stated. <br /> <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Mayor of the City of Santa <br /> <br /> <br />
