RESOLUTION NO. 2007 RESOLUTION CALLING ELECTION ON ANNEX.~TION OF "SOUTtt ~{~IN ~IDDITION". Vd{EREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa Ana did on the llth day of September, 1928, receive a written petition asking that certain new territory hereinafter described be annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of the City of Santa Ana; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Santa ~na has foLu~d that said written petition was signed by not less than one-fourth in number of the qualified electors residing in said territory, as shown by the Registration of Voters of Orange County, California; NOW, THEREFORE, The City Council of the City of Santa ~na hereby resolves as follows: 1. A special election is hereby called and ordered to be held in the territory hereinafter described, for the purpose of sub- mitting to the electors residing in said territory the question whether said territory shall be annexed to, incGrporated in and made a part of the City of Santa .~na. A notice shall be given of sai~ election by th~ publication of a notice thereof in the "Newport News'~, a weekly news- paper of general circulation, printed and published outside of said City of Santa Ana, but in the County of Orange, State of California, in ~ich said territory is situated, at least once a week for four (4) successive weeks next preceding the date of said election; said notice to be in words and figures substantially as follows: NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION NOTICE IS HEREBY GI~N: That a special election will be held in the territory hereinafter described, designated as the "South Main Addition", on Tuesday, the E$rd day of October, 19~8, for the purpose of submitting to the electors residing in said territory the question whether said territory shall be annexed to, inco~porated in and made a part of said City of Sm~ta ~na. The territory so proposed to be annexed is particularly described as follows, to-wit: Situated in the County of Orange, State of Califonala, and~particularly described as follows: Beginning at the Northwesterly corner of Tract 285, as recorded in ~iscellaneous Laps, Book 14, pages 1 and ~, Records of Orange County, said point of beginning being a point in the center line of Main Street and also an angle point in the boundary line of the City of Santa &ua, California; thence Easterly along the Northerly line of said Tract No. 28~ said Northerly li~e being also the City Boundary Line, to the North- easterly corner of said Tract; thence Southerly along the Easterly line of said Tract No. 28~ to the Southeasterly corner thereof, which, is also the Northeasterly corner of Tract No. 638 as recorded in Miscellaneous Maps, Book 19, page 17, Records of Or~ge County, California; thence Southerly along the Easterly llne of said Tract No. 638 and along the Southerly extension thereof to an intersection with a line drawn parallel to and distant thirty (30) feet Southerly from the Northerly line of Delhi Road; thence Westerly along said line drawn parallel to and distant thirty (30) feet Southerly from the Northerly line of Delhi Road to an intersection with the center line of Main Street; thence Northerly along the center line of Main Street to the point of beginning. The electors ofsaid territory are hereby directed to vote upon said question in the manner hereinafter set forth. 2.
