ROSS STREET That the hereinbefore described-portion of Ross Street, together with street intersection within the above described limits, shall be graded and paved with Portland cement concrete pavement, including driveways; the excavation for and construct- ion of Portland cement concre~ curbs along the curb lines of sai~ street and at street intersection around curves to intersect the curb lines of said intersection street; the excavation for and construction of Portland cement concrete sidewalks where sidewalks do not now exist; the excavation for and construction~of vitrified clay pipe house connecting sewers; the excavation for and construction of copper pipe water services; the e~cavation for and construction of wrought iron pipe gas main and wro~ght iron pipe house service gas connections and all other necessary appurtenances thereto~ all ~s particularly indicated on and in accordance with the plans and specifications hereinafter mentioned. Together with such other work and improvements as are noted on the plans and specifications which shall be considered as incidental to the above described work and improvements, and no additional compensation shall be allowed therefor. The work to be done as herein set forth shall include the furnishing of all labor, equipment and materials necessary for or appurtonant to the const~zaction and completion of all work herein specified. RESOLVED: That the said City Council hereby rejects all of said proposals bids except the next herein mentioned, and hereby awards the contract for doing said work and improvement to the~lowest responsible bidder, to-wit: P. P. JANICH, at the prices named in his bid as follows, to-wit: or Item No. 1. The grading to a subgrade and the laying thereon of a Portland cement concrete pavement having a total thickness of five (5) inches, complete with the furnishing of all necessary equipment, labor and material for the sum of Sixteen cents ($0.16) per square foot. Item No. B. The excavation for and the construction of Portland cement concret curbs, complete with the furnishing of all necessary equipment, labor and material for the sum of forty cents ($0.40) per linear foot. Item No. 3. The excavation for and the construction of Portland cement concrete sidewalks having a total thickness of three armt one-half (~) inches, complete with the furnishing of al~ necessary equipment, labor and material for the sum of Thirtee: cents ($0.13) per square foot. Item NO. 4. The excavation for and the construction of Portland cement concret sidewalks having a total thickness of five (5) inches, complete with the furnishing of all necessary equipment, labor and material for the sum of Fifteen cents per square foot. Item No. ~. The trenching, furnishing and laying of four (4) inch diameter vitrified clay pipe house connecting sewers, complete with the furnishing of all necessar equipment, labor and material for the sum of forty-five cents ~(~0.48) per linear foot. Item No. 6. The trenching, furnishing and laying of three-quarter (G/4) inch d~Am~ter copper pipe house connecting water services, together with all corporation cocks~ curb cocks, fittings and necessary appurtenances theretG, complete with the furnishing of all necessary equipment, labor and material for the sum of Thirteen Dollars ($13.00) each. Item No. ~. The trenching, furnlmhing and laying of three (~) inch diameter Byers wrought iron pipe gas main complete with the furnishing of all necessary equipment~ labor and material for the sum of Seventy cents ($0.~0) per linear foot. Item No. 8. The trenching, furnishing and laying of three-quarter ($/4) inch diameter Byers wrought iron pipe house connecting gas services together with all cocks, fittings and necessa~j appurtenances thereto, complete with the furnishing of all necessary e~pment, labor and material for forty cents ($0.40) per linear foot. The Clerk of the City of Santa Ana is hereby directed to post a notice of this award conspicuously for five (8) days on or near the door of the Council Chamber of the City Council of the City of Santa Aha, and also publish said notice twice in the Santa Aha Daily Evening Register, a daily newspaper published and circulated in the City of Santa Aha, and hereby designated for that purpose by said City Council.
